The really amazing thing here is that Lindsey's on guitar --- considering he had just had a spinal tap days earlier.

What a fun video! And Lindsey, mmmm, that murky post-Rumours/pre-Tusk period is a yummy period for looking at Lindsey, haha. Chris on the snare is pretty hot itself.

wow I didn't know that about Lindsey Whats the story on that about the spinal tap? And is my connection right when I remember from a long time ago somebody posted Limo convo's in Micks Limo, I remember hearing Christine talk to Mick about somebody having a spinal tap and to not tell the press, was that Lindsey they were talking about?

I think it's at the end of this video when Stevie says, "Lindsey is one strong man," a reference to his back. She rubs his back as they walk off stage and Christine takes the guitar away from him.

I guess they found out he had epilepsy and he takes medication now. That is the Conversations tape discussion that you hear Mick and Christine having. John describes what happened below in this Washington Post piece, but I think he was exaggerating a bit. Quote:

Lindsey reminds me a little of Lou Reed in that video.

I agree so much! That's my favourite Lindsey era, he looked hot on the Tusk tour too but a bit too skinny

That's a great vid!!! I always liked that song. Too bad they didn't keep it on their set list more often. LB looks good (check out those biceps) but that glittery blouse just kills it for me. It always struck me as strange how deep Stevie's voice is when she speaks, compared to how it sounds when she sings. Christine is as Cool as ever - and looks great!

Hmmmm...IS that actually a snare drum she's playing? There's not a good close up shot of it...there definitely sounds to be a Timbale within the percussion sounds...could THAT be what she's playing?

I hoped one of the musicians on the board would comment on this. What exactly is the difference between a snare and a timbale? And, Chili, how would you critique her drumming technique? (She's so good at hand percussion, why shouldn't she be good at the sticks too?)

YES! You totally nailed it. Albeit, a much more comely version of Lou Reed, but the same "look" as it were. He and John side by side are entirely incongruous. One seems a part of a 70s California Rock band, the other a street urchin in the East Village.
By the way, Christine looks so friggin' fabulous. The novelty of her drumming in that ultra-sheik West Coast outfit is just too much. |
