Leather and Lace live
This song was so good live in 1981 and shockingly cut from the HBO show and VHS tape. It was her second single and top 10 hit yet cut. This was the best live version of this song. Her voice range is just like the record and having 3 voices out of one microphone is really incredible. Her next solo tour it never sounded this good and both that tour and RAL tour were sort of ruined by heavy drug use. Then she dropped it from the set for a long time. By the time it came back to the set, her voice was flat. This was a moment in time and the song was never performed anywhere close again. Some songs like Stand Back improve over time in concert compared to when it was first performed. But this version of Leather and Lace was cut from her promo concert and we never got this treat ever again. This is the best Leather and Lace and the worst was her performing it with Rod Steward while he was reading the words from the teleprompter and still messing up the lyrics. I also hated her vocal coach singing it with her about 11 years ago. He has a great voice but good grief it sounded like an American Idol audition.
