Question Where is the F.MAC star in Hollywood?

Have you been in LA? It's possible that maybe I'll go in few weeks. I've been there twice, even in Hollywood, but never got time to see the F.Mac star in the Walk of Fame.

Does anybody know where is it exactly? (street, block, etc). If you know it please give me some directions.

Thanks

It's right out in front of "Fredrick's Of Hollywood" at:

6608 Hollywood Boulevard

In case anyone is wondering, I researched the address. I did NOT (repeat: DID NOT) know this off the top of my head

:lol

Lol ChiliD, I however DID know that off the top of my head...not because I'm spending so much time in front of Fredrick's, heh. I just remember when I went to CA my dad commented on Fredrick's as we passed it, but I looked down and saw the Fleetwood Mac star and became totally uninterested in anything else. At the time, I was just starting to really love FM, and I didn't know they had a star on the Walk of Fame. I took a picture, but never got them developed lol. I actually thought that the star was on the other side of the street as Fredrick's, but I could be wrong. I just remember it being near Fredrick's.

Default About the star..

I never really got this. Is it normal for bands to get Hollywood stars?!?! Plus do they ever mention Fleetwood Mac Day- as in, is it at all recurring or just back in 79?

Fleetwood Mac Day was a mayoral proclamation (Mayor Tom Bradley). It's just a fun thing for the mayor to do; it's not really very important. It doesn't recur every year --- just a one-time thing. It's just a big publicity hoohah.

A lot of bands & musicians have been given Hollywood Boulevard stars. Movie people mostly, but many singers, too.

I was at the ceremony for Fleetwood in '79. I took some photos which will some day get scanned. It was just before they left town on their big tour. These ceremonies are usually filmed or nowadays videotaped. They're probably locked away in some basement at the county courthouse. The Fleetwood Mac ceremony was filmed, but was only slightly more exciting than ... oh, a Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac album.

Question

Also, and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I thought I heard that some non famous, rich businessmen have stars of the HWOF as well, it seems it's unfortunately become sort of a joke in the sense that ANYONE can get one as long as you have the money. I'm not saying that FM "bought" their one or anything, their ceremony obviously happened long before this kind of thing started and I could be wrong but I thought I read something along these lines about ten years ago or so, hopefully I am wrong about what I heard about it and that things have changed for the better on this since then or if they haven't, that they will someday soon.

John
