No, I am not too fond of these ‘new’ songs myself. This is not what I expected from him. Castway Dreams seems to be the best so far, however. I am sorry but I just don’t like this new Lindsey. This is awful to say but I liked him better bitter and tortured.

I love all of them.

Is anybody willing to transcribe the lyrics to Cast Away Dreams? There are some bits I couldn't quite catch...

This is my best shot (also my fav)

Cast Away Dreams

Holy Nights, Visionary sights
There’s been a change in plans
Goin away, No I cannot stay
I hope you understand

{Chorus}
I won’t be home til tonight
I’ll just slip out of sight
Lay down my visionary eyes
Dancin on my cast away dreams
Keep yourself out of sight
Farewell to the wishes that died
Look for me in the mornin light
Dancin on my cast away dreams

Magic one
All our dreams are done
I have no faith today
Sun will rise
In your newborn eyes
Just let me slip away

{Chorus}

It would do no good
To drown in the sea
Where no one remembers their name
And nothing but nothing is free
Hearts would break
With choices we must make
So sleep and dream of me

{Repeat Chorus}

Look for me in the mornin light
Dancin on my cast away dreams

That's perfect! To my ears he's saying "I Won't Be Home Tonight" at the beginning of the chorus.

.....search for....

"past is gone, Will is here"

"past is gone, LeeLee's here"

"past is gone, Stella's here"

at the end of each chorus.

that should do the trick....I guess

I adore him too - but these songs are not grabbing me.

But, if they work for everyone else - great!!!!!!!!!!

Interestingly, he seems to be avoiding those IMO brilliantly sardonic lyrics like on Say Goodbye, ISA, etc. - - as well as the more pop ones like Trouble.

Heart

These songs have definitely grabbed me. I love Lindsey when he whispers a little. Most exciting of all, will be the second CD release he has promised. Having Lindsey "both ways" I could die happy. Now if he/they would just presale the cali shows!

That's the good thing. Again he does something we don't expect from him. I guess we must stop hoping for things he did in the past, he just seem to refuse to live up to that. He's not a crowdpleaser, hell, even his biggest fans are shakin' on their grounds. I'm puzzled too, I can understand everybody who's a bit dissapointed-maybe I am too. But in some way these songs are stickin' after you play them alot. They all have a very high level of catchy-ness and they are annoying in some way too. But when I first heard Save Me A Place, Johnny Stew, Play In The Rain, Not That Funny, WMYTYTO, Murrow, Red Rover, Say Goodbye, it took me a long time before I got the brilliance of them too. Frankly, at first they made me itch like I had some gonnorrhea they'd never discovered before.

Gerald, you have a way with words, dude.

I loved Red Rover from the second I heard it. That song shot right through me.

Over the past few days, I've not been listening to the songs at LB.com because I don't wanna burn myself out. I've been singing Castaway Dreams and It Was You though, but Show You How....annoys me a little. The chorus is too repetitive, but I do like the verses. So far, that's my least fave of the three. I put that one in the What's the World Coming To league as it's an okay song, but not even close to being a fave.

The album comes out 3 weeks from tomorrow.

I'm extremely curious to see which of the new songs are put in the setlist and how they will sound...live!

Anyone looking for OOTC is going to be SORELY disappointed. All three of LB's solo albums are super different and this one is no exception. I can totally see people not liking the songs, but I would listen to them a few times and see if they grow on ya.
