Default Meantime credits, musicians & sleeve notes

All posted on Neil's board:

Billy Burnette sings on one song and Tom Petty's drummer Steve Ferrone also worked on the record.

From those notes it actually seems that Billy co-wrote one song ("Givin' It Back") but doesn't appear on the album as a performer. Not that I care that much but which way is it?

Did I leave it out?
Billy Burnette provides backing vocals on Givin' It Back as well as co-writing the song.

It's interesting to note that Steve Ferrone played on her 1984 album, as did George Hawkins.

Only Todd Sharpe is missing here from the 1984 album. I remember when George Hawkins had his Q & A here on this website. I believe he mentioned that Chris had told him that if she ever recorded another album, she wanted him to play on the it. I LOVE Steve Ferrone. He played in Eric Clapton's band, too. When I listened to the "Givin' It Back" clip, I thought of Billy. It has a little country feel to it. I thought if he was on any of the songs, it would be that one. And, Lenny Castro from the Dance is on the album too. Since Eddy Quintela co-wrote just 1 song, it looks like the rest of the songs were just very recently written. And, very nice liner notes from Christine's brother. This was really a family affair.

Thanks for posting.

He's also the drummer for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers . It's so cool to see that Chris is working with like, almost all of the musicians she collaborated with on her 1984 album. I'm getting more and more excited about this album every day. I can't wait .

I'm surprised to see there are two songs written solely by Dan Perfect _ "Northern Star" and "Calumny." In fact, they're two of my favorites on the CD!

Dan Perfect co-produced, wrote, played guitar & sang backing vocals. Christine sure did have alot of confidence in him. He's VERY talented. I wonder if he ever did anything else prior to this album.

What a great song Dan!! From what I've heard of "Northern Star", I believe it's safe to say that there's more than one talented writer in the Perfect Family. Where's this guy been? Chris should have recruited him a long time ago!!

He's played with a TON of folks...and quite a variety of styles, too!

Average White Band
Duran Duran
Al Jarreau
Aretha Franklin
Steve Winwood
Mick Jagger
B-52's
Peter Frampton

Quite a collection...and that is a VERY incomplete list.

Plus, I read where he was in a band that opened for The Who when he was TWELVE YEARS OLD!

Anybody know if Robbie Patton's contribution to Friend was current or if it came from when they worked together in the past? Seeing Dan Perfect's name as one of the co-writers leads me to believe RP's involvement was recent, but I suppose Dan P. could have helped finish up a partially written song. Seems like RP has dropped off the face of the Earth since the '80s.

I have a feeling that it's a current song. One of the back up singers on this album is David Isaacs. He's a friend of Robbie Patton. That's how he met Chris. I think that maybe Robbie might be living in England. He and Chris are probably still good friends. Also, "Anything Is Possible" & "Friend" may be mislabled on her web site. I have a feeling that RP may be on "Anything Is Possible", not "Friend".
