iamnotafraid gave me permission to discuss all things college football in this thread....therefore....

Sooooooo..... "JoePa" and all this news....

I wonder what that will do to the NU game.....Huskers play Penn State this weekend. (GO BURKHEAD!)

Meanwhile CU plays Arizona and I predict Arizona to have between 40 and 50 points... to CU's 14...STILL....if it's on TV....I'm watchin' it. Go Buffs... My favorite player is Jon Major - defense - middle linebacker.... (#31 is easy to spot too, with all those curls sticking out behind his helmet....)

Not even counting this most embarrassing incident,
Paterno has needed to go for years. Though I've never
been a fan, Penn State deserves much better. Even with
this horrible sex abuse scandal JoePa wanted to stay until
the end of this season. Is he really that clueless? Is it just
Ego?

Growing up there seemed to be three teams that meant
college football (though I only liked one):

1. Alabama.
2. Notre Dame.
3. Penn State.

Now, Penn State will forever have this stain on them.
I hope they clean house. If they don't control the riots
they'll be looked at even worse, if that's possible.

ChiliD --- Be still my heart!!

Huskers are playing them at State College....and the media coverage is gonna be similar to a Bowl Game.... I hope that the energy is a positive one. (Did you see the beer cups thrown at Eddie Royal when he hit the end zone at the Broncos-Raiders game on Sunday???)

What is more interesting...(in the Nebraska vs. Penn State game) .....is that the also fired Graham Spanier (Penn State President) used to be the Chancellor of UNL from 91-95...

While exercising this morning, the TV at the fitness club was showing the student protesters at Penn State. So, they love their coach....but what about the sex abuse issue? Just because Joe didn't do it, he's still in the picture... and the administration has to do something to show they are taking this seriously...and get media focus that they ARE doing something...

I think back on USC (Pete Carrol) and Ohio State (Jim Tressel) and Texas Tech (Mike Leach)....I suppose all things are forgotten in time because something bigger (and more scandalous) has occurred... And maybe JoePa will find a place in the pro's.....he's got a few more years left in him.... (Smile)

Update....

There was an interesting conversation on the radio at noon. The discussion was centered around coaching staffs in general, especially those who have worked closely together for years. When in a work environment where you are around the same people for as much as 16 hours a day....you know who's hitting the bottle....who had had what for dinner, etc. The panel discussing the Penn State situation felt that for Joe not to know, was incredible.

Nobody on this board, probably cares but...I wanted to let any lurking college football fans to know the latest.

Huskers vs Penn State may be the most bizarre football game ever. Tom Osborne has advised Husker fans NOT to wear red clothes to the game. What is going to happen with the crowd is uncertain and probably has the Penn State police scared to death. It could be real ugly or it could be passive. No one knows, so I will definitely be watching this one from start to finish.

Miserable Kentucky dropped another SEC loss. This time by 30 to lowly Vanderbilt. Next loss to Georgia with mascot bulldog "Russ" subbing for Uga.

I KNEW I heard you screaming when Okahoma State lost last Friday night.... (Sorry BrianJ....)

I said....'What is that noise? Either iamnotafraid found a snake that he IS afraid of, or BAMA just leap frogged its way back to the BCS."

Like a cat with 9 lives....BAMA is back...

HA!

You know me too well.

And you're right BAMA is back!

We're going to declaw those kittens this weekend.
And those famous three words are coming later this week.

A show of hands to how many are tired of this thread?

Too bad for you!

The Tide just keeps ROLLING.

It is as I have foreseen. The BCS is now ours for the taking.

LSU might lay down in the SEC Championship Game, just so they
won't have to play us. That would be a shame, because we want
those Tigers.

Tigers are becoming an endangered species around these parts
after today. That was a beat down.

Here's the future folks:

BAMA wins the BCS Championship
and makes it an even 14.

Trent Richardson wins the Heisman Trophy.

And we all live happily ever after.

Say it with me...

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
