Friday I was driving and listening to the Big 80s on Sirius XM. Alan Hunter said that Dreams was at #2 and not sure if was going to make #1 this week. He also suggested the Mac donate part of the royalties of this boost to the Tik Tok guy LOL

I just saw the Top 100 Billboard predictions on Twitter and it looks like Dreams jumps from #21 to #12, which is huge. The jump is basically due to sales and streaming. It’s not getting much airplay.

I bet all these people buying and listening to this song now don’t even know that it was not only written about her breakup with lover Neal Finn but that he also was playing guitar on it!

I can't imagine that today's generation would care who the song was written about. Sadly, they probably have no idea who Neil Finn or Lindsey Buckingham are.

yep, people who are hearing of Fleetwood Mac for the first time ever after the viral tiktok have no clue who are Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, or Neil Finn.

some are actually going into FM catalogue and streaming whole albums and will learn. others will just stay with Dreams, or by now already moved on to another viral sensation.

it's been nice watching this Mac rebirth, yet again.

This article is not completely accurate. I know for a fact that Rumours reentered the Billboard top ten in the summer of 1978 as Fleetwood Mac did their stadium tour.

That’s the Rolling Sones chart. Billboard is the chart most people use. It looks like Dreams is #10 on the worldwide chart and was the best selling track in the world last week, which is phenomenal. It’s lower in the U.S. Top 100 because of airplay. It’s only getting played on on classic rock stations. I think it hits #12 tomorrow.
