Default Frustrating Mac

I just saw that Destiny's Child has a new album coming out today and Kelly Clarkson next week. It's significant because DC's last album came out the same day as TISL and Kelly's last record came out the same day as Say You Will.

Could you just imagine if the Mac put out this much music this quickly? I'd freak out!

And when will we see a new Stevie or Mac record? Don't get me started on Lindsey!

The frustrated fans await...

Well Destiny's Child didn't do that great... it will debut on the top 200 in the 20's. I think it was released earlier then expected so this doesn't reflect a full weeks sales.

You can please some of the people some of the time..

Since Say You Will was released, the amount of time they've been off the road is what, about two months, now?

Bearing in mind the fact that Street Angel took 5 years, I shudder to contemplate the quality of a FM-related recording completed in such a ridiculously short time.

...Personally, I got more out of the two times I saw FM live this past tour than I believe I would have from 12 new songs (And I use the term "new" loosely, as I have a sneaking suspicion that 3/4 of the songs would already be familiar to us bootleggers), even if by some miracle they weren't atrocious. For this reason, count me out of the "frustrated fans" army.

I don't mean to come off as debasing someone's opinion, but come on. Look at it logically. EACH concert on the SYW tour made an average of (I think) about $900,000. Say You Will has sold 800,000 copies. Which route would you take?

Well by now they have all made millions on the tour and they really don't need anymore money. At this point they will do what they want to do and I think they all like making records (sans John- but he goes with the flow and will do whatever it seems). They certainly don't want to tour everyday for the rest of their lives. So, I would say that even though making a record gets them the same amount of money a week of touring gets them they will continue to make records.

Consider the quality.

DC's album is NOT getting great reviews at all. Honestly, I think it was a pointless release--yet another bolt for fame for Beyonce who is clearly what the group revolves around now. Kelly Clarkson is down to about 7 more minutes of fame, so I really don't see that being legendary work. They'll both be forgotten for the first singles.

I think most people agree that, as a whole, a lot of the albums that came out in the mid-70s to early-80s were some of the best albums ever made. I think there were a lot more people working on their musicianship back then than there are now. We've got a lot of producers and a lot of samples. Not much quality.

I don't even know who DC or Kelly Clarkson is. I am really out of touch. I'm guessing I'm not missing anything.....

I hear all of these new names, and couldn't care less. 90% of what they put out now is garbage, IMO. I do listen to new acts, just not the fodder marketed to the masses. RADIO BLOWS!

That's because of lot of the music on the radio is temporary. I mean...it's pop. In 10 years a lot of these will be gone. I think 10 years is healthy estimate, as the solo acts from the popular acts of 5 years ago (think NSYNC, BSB, etc.) are attempting to strike out, but eh...there's no originality, not even in the songs they attempt to write themselves.

Cool My homegirl...

Kelly Clarkson is a terrific singer and is writing songs for her next album with some other people. Her song, Don't, which may be on her next album is awesome! She has singing talent, unlike some of the female singers out there.
