Question Front row in jacksonville!

Hey guys...I paid an insane amount for these and I'll be broke for a month or so because of it. At any rate, on to the question!

I've never been front row any concert I've attended. I plan on sneaking in two disposable cameras and getting some great pics...but I'm worried about possibly "blinding" a band member with the flash! The pictures won't be for resale or anything, I just want some good memories. Any suggestions from fellow front row-ers?

Stevie asked one of the security guards in Atlanta to tell one of the girls I know that was in front of her to stop using the flash because it was bothering her (she couldn't figure out how to turn the flash off). My advice to you would be to not use the flash or find a camera with an option to not use the flash. Have a great time in the front row!!!

Are cameras allowed at the venue?

You're lucky to get one camera in, let alone two, especially with flash.

No of course cameras arent allowed but I always bring them anyways. When I was third row *knock on wood* I had two disposables and used them both up completely. I didnt get either of them taken.

I would definitely not use a flash. It draws attention and you will probably be asked to stop. I would get a camera where you can turn off the flash or if you can't find one, tape a piece of black tape over the flash. They should turn out pretty good since you are in front row. I had a disposable w/o flash from third row and they still turned out fairly well.

You don't need the flash. Its purpose is to light your subject & there's plenty of lighting on stage for that. If you do use the flash, it won't do anything except brighten closer objects that may get in your way (security guys' heads, the stage, monitors, etc.)

BTW - in the past, have your pics turned out good w/ disposables? What speed film? Just curious, I didn't think they would work out well.

I've been using the 400 speed High def film or the 800 speed. I think the 400 is best for various situations and 800 speed is better clarity for low lighting. I had quite a few good photos turn out with the disposables I had last time around, except they tend to "pan out" really far. For example...in Atlanta last year I was 3rd row, but the pictures made it look like 10th row I'd say.

Default good for you!

Demon, I am so glad to hear you scored front row! In Atlanta, the flash bothered Stevie so I would recommend you just turn it off. LB actually smiles right into the camera if you put one in front of his face. The flash is what appears to bother Stevie, not so much that people are taking her photo. In fact, she asked one of the guards to go down and find the camera because it kept going off in her eyes!
I hope you have a blast and get some great photos! Can't wait to see em.

Hey Kelly! Well I plan on planting myself right under Lindsey's mic anyways. I want to play his guitar during Go Your Own Way!!! So I figure most of my pics of Stevie will be "sidelong" since I'll be closer to Lindsey. if I move from that spot I might not get the chance to make it back over there later you know?

What brands make them without flashes? I can't seem to find any ...

Those disposable underwater cameras usually don't have a flash - and they're 800-speed. Personally, I prefer Fuji over Kodak.

wow...everyone is going to this show! haha...if everyone starts bringing cameras in that place, we should between the lot of us come up with some damn fine photos! I'm hoping since I'm front row that the pics dont look like I'm staring up at Lindsey or Stevie's nose!
