Cover songs
So, I've come across a lot of cover songs in the past, but most of them suck. So I was wondering what covers have yall heard that are actually good?
I'd say Ari Hest's cover of "Little Lies" is my favorite. And then some guy on YouTube covered Stand Back, and I like the way he changed it up and did an acoustic version of it.

I just recently watched Ari Hest's cover of Little Lies and I actually loved what he did with it even though I usually believe you don't mess with gems or masterpieces, and leave well enough alone. It was a new take on that song and something Lindsey and Stevie could do up on stage, toned down and simplified just like Ari's version (since Chris isn't there). I think that would sound great and totally surprise us fans and most of us would fall over from hearing the song.

I have not liked, generally, any Fleetwood Mac covers that I've heard.
The Cranberries version of GYOW wasnt too bad... and I liked some of the stuff on Camper Van's version of Tusk

See I never thought the Cranberries sounded good live. And that's only from watching them on tv ever. You don't think Stevie and Lindsey could do a stripped down version of Little Lies like Ari Hest did and it go over well with fans? Cause I do. I think it'd be a hit with them!

I still really like Sister Hazel's version of Gold Dust Woman, a dozen years on.

Not really, because it's a Christine McVie vocal.

One of the worst was Wilson Phillips cover of GYOW. It was way too happy and "pretty". It lost all of its intensity!
People will probably get on me for this, but I did actually like Billy Corgans' version of Landslide. I know alot of people didn't though. It's just me! *waits for the pie-throwing!!*lol

True, and all the more reason they should do it exactly as Ari Hest had done. A stripped down vocal of them two just singing Little Lies for us. I think the fans would go wild and we'd still get to hear the song, cause it looks like Chris isn't coming back anytime soon. I think Stevie and Lindsey could pull it off well. And it would probably sound better stripped down, than the full instrumental live version they used to do (with Christine).

I love that cover version. It's by far the best song on the Legacy album and I still listen to it regularly. For a great Mac cover though then check out Nora O'Connor's version of That's Alright from her album 'Til The Dawn. Also Sara Watikins' Steal Your Heart Away.

This guy has a real nice voice. He is Barratt Waugh singing "Songbird".
http://www.sendspace.com/file/owb7aq Does anybody have a cover of Rhiannon sung by an Asian woman? You can tell she probably doesn't speak English. I used to have it and another version of Rhiannon before my computer crashed a while back. |
