Can't stop singing "In my world"!

Loved those Big Love's "uh-ah-oh" and in some parts I can hear "Empire State".

I'd have loved to hear Christine on this one but I'm sure her presence in the album will be prominent in the rest of the songs.

Lindsey's vocal doesn't sound overly processed, which is a move in the right direction for him. Listen to TTWLG to understand what he sounds like when he shifts keys in post production.
i'll give you this.

while TTWLG live is superb and album version is overprocessed, it's still a fantastic punkish rocker. not this song. this is Lindsey extra extra extra lite.

yes, this sounds like Lindsey's collaboration with Empire of The Sun more than anything else i've heard from him. i really disliked that one, and the chorus of this song is very much like it, whatever that EOTS song was called.

sorry, just not my taste.

I haven't really felt like saying anything about this album, but upon first listen... This is not great, in my opinion I'm not even sure I could say it's even good..

The grating dissonant guitar part, the oohs and ahs, the vocal production, the cheesy synths..

If this is any preview of the album itself, I choose to pass.

Third Listen: There's so much fun sonic stuff going on (it's tickling my beats headphones) ... too bad I have NO IDEA what he's on about ... whisper vocals are disappointing but they are bathed in the music to get sufficiently lubricated (instead of standing outside the bath waiting to get in)

Ultimately: I love it -- if it were for an upcoming Buckingham album I would be OVERJOYED with the production .. it's like a combination of Stand Back and Love Minus Zero and SWS

And: It's a teaser, not a single
It's such a teaser... Can't wait to hear Christine's material.

Just listened to In My World...

It's a pretty harmless slice of pop music. It's quite nice and I can see why people have said it could have been on Tango In The Night (perhaps this particular song has been released as a nod to the TITN 30 year anniversary). Overall I'm feeling slightly underwhelmed though. I'll echo the disappointment about the lack of Christine on the song (I thought this was supposed to be a duets project- what sort of message does it send releasing a single with half of the act completely absent?). I was also hoping for something a bit meatier and rock-orientated. The repeated jangly guitar motif is a bit irritating. I'd at least like to have heard a rock guitar solo in the outro, perhaps. The Big Love-type oohs sound a bit odd... on Tango In The Night most listeners at the time assumed they were Stevie- it makes it a bit weird on a Stevie-less song. The best part is the instrumental interlude from 2.14-2.30 (nice drum fills Mick). Overall I'd say this sounds like a good album track rather than a hit single (yes, it does remind me of You and I part 2). I don't think its going to set the world on fire but it's nice enough.

If it wasn't for the vocal filter thing particularly how it sounds on the chorus I'd like it more. It's kind of a basic Lindsey song but I just don't like the sounds he does on this type of thing. It gives me the same vibe as his most recent solo albums which I didn't exactly love for that reason-- all the sounds. I agree, considering the lack of Christine harmonies, it's more a teaser but then why would they pick it as the lead single.

Recorded at LA’s Village Studios with fellow Fleetwood Mac members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, the 10-track duets album Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie will be out in June, and the duo will head out on a brief tour of the US shortly thereafter. First single “In My World” has just arrived, and you can hear it below.

I really like it. Especially the chorus. I don't think it's really comparable to anything we've seen except some songs on GOS.

Yes, it sounds a bit 'Casio' towards the end.

p.s. - it's ABOUT stevie and, more pointedly, aimed AT her.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.
