Question Buckingham/Nicks...Closer Together

Seeing as the new Fleetwood Mac album is kinda Buckingham/Nicks #2...Do you think that Stevie and Lindsey will get closer then they have been for the past years?..

I think that's a pretty touchy subject around here.......
Alot of people would like to comment either way, because there are alot of strong opinions on both sides of the issue about that, but as you'll see most folks just won't say one way or the other what they think will happen.

We'll all just have to wait and see as the next chapter of this book unfolds. Kind of exciting, huh?

Interesting question. I would say yes and no.

I say yes because I think that they really are musical soulmates.. no one can make the sound that they have together better than Lindsey. He just knows exactly how to put the magic into her songs. No one can add the mystical lyrics and that raspy voice to FM songs better than Stevie. They work very well off of each other.

I say no because of their history and as much as time heals all wounds.. the memories never really fade. They have such an intense relationship and they have very strong personalities that I don't think they will get closer than the friends they are now.

I think Lindsey & Stevie will talk about old times. Stevie said something interesting a few months ago. She said that she & Lindsey had been talking a little bit about the Tusk Tour. I thought that was rockin' news.

I'm happy to hear that they both remember it. I wish they'd talk about the Tusk Tour during the Quicktime movies instead of all that silly nonsense concerning new albums being recorded.

I'm the Miniver Cheevy of Fleetwood Mac fans.

What do you think these songs will be about?

Will they be reflective songs looking back @ their past love?

I hope there are some fresh topics like the ones Lindsey has on GOS.

It seems as though they are closer now... but who am I to say.. lol.

But they've got to be closer than before The Dance when they weren't even talking. Stevie also said during an interview (I think it was the same one mentioned above) that her and Lindsey spent alot of time talking in the studio and when they were supposed to be working on songs, they would end up talking for hours instead... which is only a good thing IMO.

Default Controversial...

Hey, if you really want a touchy subject on your hands, the question would be "Are/Will Stevie and Lindsey be closer romantically." I'm sure we'd have some interesting responses on that one...
-Brian
P.S. Question at hand -- yes. Question I just mentioned -- absolutely not.

I agree with Rhiannon1119 - time heals all wounds - but it doesn't light any new fires!
(Hmm sorry - very mixed metaphor!)

I think both of them are already at a place where, as Lindsey would say, it's a different chronological context.

I just hope the new pressures of publicity, release and tour don't erode the newfound relationship of trust and good humour that seemingly hasn't been derailed during the production.

I am curious as to why you say Buckingham/Nicks #2? I certainly don't see this as Buckingham/Nicks #2. How about Fleetwood Mac minus one!

Answer: I guess we will see won't we?

I think that they are, and will be, closer than before, but of course on the most innocent, healthy level. I can imagine them talking for hours and hours about things from decades ago, good and bad, healing very old wounds and remembering the amazing times they had together. I'm sure this will be reflected in the "new sound" album.

I totally agree with everyone else, that they seem to be closer as friends now...didn't Stevie say once they couldn't sit in a room with each other for more than 5 minutes without arguing (or words to that effect)..so to be able to "talk like a bunch of girls" for hours is great news!!! Which brings to mind the upcoming tour and seeing how it's just them up front, theyr'e going to have to rely on each other a lot, not only to get through a whole set of emotionally charged songs, but to do it well without any anger, pain or "staged" theatrical dramatics etc.( but if the emotion is there.... let it be for real ).Sure will be interesting to watch. As for any offstage stuff, the good side of me hopes that with Lindsey being married and all, they should both behave themselves (they're old enough to know better..we hope! ) but on the other hand, the other side of me just wants them to have a bit of fun, you know...

hey, tuigirl.....you're a girl after my own heart! tee hee!!

I don't think anyone should be surprised at anything the folks in this band do. Once those artist's amotions take over anything is bound to happen! Sure alot has changed, but alot hasn't either.
