Default will the current tour be a world tour, or the US leg is it?

in the recently published Christine interview for Elle magazine, there were 2 things that i found surprising:

1) she's not talking about any timeline for FM album anymore (in previous interviews she was indicating it should be spring, before the UK leg of the tour);

and

2) she's not talking about the UK tour anymore.

could it be that the currently booked dates will be it, despite the initial plans to make it a world tour, play glasto, etc etc?

is this why we are not hearing anything about the potential 2015 dates yet? the dates for the fall US tour came out in march - more than 6 months before the tour.

or is Nicks backing out of the world tour part and the rest of them still want to do it and they need to renegotiate that part? considering FM name and Christine's songs seems to be by far the biggest draw in the UK at least, seems conceivable to re-book the tour without Nicks there, no?

or maybe the FM will be done with touring for now, after this year - and we will be back to solo for everybody?

PS i have no idea what i'm talking about when it comes to tour booking, just happily speculating.

I think it's possible you're just reading too much into all of this. It's only August- a second leg in Europe would be probably at least 6 months away, possibly more. An album is likely a year or more away. Fleetwood Mac doesn't tend to discuss things in public until dates & such are firmed up.

From what I remember I'm pretty sure that the UK dates for the 2013 tour were announced around the time that the tour kicked off in the US. If it remains the same this year, we'll know the dates by late September/October. Don't worry yourselves yet, there's still time!!!

They will extend the tour. They need the money.

I think the likelihood that Fleetwood Mac will tour WITHOUT Stevie Nicks is next to IMPOSSIBLE (at least at this point in the game). I expect the tour to be extended, I'm just not sure what those dates will be. I also expect a few more US DATES to be added late in the tour. For example, there is NO Las Vegas date set. I can't imagine THE MAC not rolling through Vegas on this tour.

Well, if you're theory is true and THE MAC DO choose to tour without Nicks, maybe they can call up Bekka Bramlett to fill in for the Welsh Witch? NOT !!!!!!

Agreed! The notion that Fleetwood Mac will go on tour with Christine, but not Stevie, is unfounded. The Rumours era configuration will be fully intact when they hit the road.

While Stevie's new album has the potential to be her biggest success in years, she is not going to bail on her commitment to tour with Christine back in Fleetwood Mac. Her album will sell well despite the conflict that prevents her from embarking on a solo tour.

WatchChain, why the bold type? I feel like like you're shouting at me! lol

Yes, WatchChain. I sent you a PM about this. Perhaps you didn't see it, but please don't post all in bold any longer.

If Christine hadn't retired from the road in 1990, there wouldn't have been a need for Bekka.

Yes. Money is what motivates these people. I'm a little worried about the album (when oh when!) getting delayed by an endless cash grab tour of oldies. But there should be no worry that this band will make it to at least England.

Perhaps when Stevie supports her solo album with a small tour, the remaining four will return to the studio and work more on the new songs. I only wonder what Stevie will contribute in terms of songs. She's pretty much used up her "vault" and will have to write at least three or four songs to be comparable with Chris and Lindsey's contributions.

Since they seem to be doing Glastonbury, I'm not concerned that they won't make it abroad.

Maybe management requested that the band not discuss a new album anymore now that Stevie is promoting her upcoming album.

from everything we know, the FM album is getting delayed (for the last 5+ years!) by SN not wanting to record it, and the rest of the band not willing to put it out without her.

i like your sense of humor! yes, right now there are about 2 albums worth of Lindsey and Chris songs recorded for that FM album, and 0 Stevie songs - so why not have 3 albums worth of Lindsey and Christine songs, all waiting for Stevie to add on her vocals and songs, right?

but we don't know that for sure, it has been confirmed even less than album out in the spring before the EU tour.

Know it in your heart, Elle. If it comes down to not doing an album (or even an EP) or not doing Glastonbury, Glastonbury is a much surer thing than any new music.

I wouldn't mind that at all. I'd actually PREFER that be the reality.
