Since I don't know how to play "Stephanie" on guitar myself, I am *assuming* that Lindsey is playing live along with a pre-recorded backing track for this song.

I think the idea of Lindsey performing instrumentals is a bit... cool and unprecedented! I wouldn't mind seeing more of these in his set- sorta like the recording of instrumental versions of Fleetwood Mac songs that was played before showtime on the Unleashed tour. In a way, I prefer Lindsey as a guitarist than as a vocalist these days.

I think you're right, he must be.

While we are at it. Please play Slow Dancing, Walk a Thin Line, and Lola (for totally shallow reasons)
Ha, at least he is not doing It Was You for them -- not that I didn't like it at the time, but let the past be the past.

Oh, I'm glad UTS isn't there. Lindsey kind of likes that song, so it wouldn't take much encouragement for him to put it back in. Pipe down, you.

Hmm, I understand that you're assuming that, but to be honest, I'm pretty sure, based on what I saw/heard in the clips, he played it alone, clean, like he should, by the way...

And I agree with his vocals. I think at the last tour they were much better...

I think it's a single guitar after watching the video. Sounds like a nice chorus effect he's got on there (think similar to the sound of 12-string)

Oh! Now, that makes sense in what I'm hearing. I thought for sure I read that was a definite multiple track piece on the original recording, maybe even that Waddy played on it? But I can't remember for sure about that.

I see now after watching the video below what I thought was losing timing with a track toward the end was just an almost losing timing. I definitely agree with Brandon there is some kind of effect going on to give it that "layered" sound. Awesome!

he's playing "stephanie" with a backing track. he was smirking at the front row last night for giggling at his pre-recorded count in. if you listen closely to the beginning of the video posted above, you can hear two castanet metronome beats.

dislike.

the only one that i kinda like other than instrumentals (and i like django better than stephanie, and the melody of EOTW instrumental parts better than stephanie too), is WALTSO.

when i heard/saw first Stephanie video i thought it had pre-recorded backup. now i'm not so sure anymore.

it almost seems like it would be actually harder going through most of the show trying to make sure to keep up with the prerecorded track than playing most of the songs free without any backup. just look what happened with ISA yesterday. and, he can certainly do several melodies at once (and singing with that! BL anyone?), so it's not out of the realm of possibility that he can do an instrumental like that, where he doesn't even have to sing.

That video of "Bleed to Love Her" is almost enough to convince me to go, even though the rest of the set doesn't excite me a whole lot. I feel guilty enough that I can't get myself too thrilled about those mainstays live but I've never heard "Bleed to Love Her" in person before and it's my most favorite song of all. Why can't the shows be free?
