Gift of Screws- I think I may have the demos

I think I may have a bootleg of the demos for Gift of Screws.
anyone knowanything about this? How did it get out? It is 19 tracks. some are Rolling stones covers.
someone along the line put together a cd cover. I have seen the art/pics on it before. The note n the back says "demos for cancelled album recorded and mixed in Lindsey's home studio."

I got it from a friend who burned it from a cd of a friend. No ide where it came from prior to that. Is this something floating around out there? Is it for real or are these old demos that have been leaked before that someone put together? The list is

Yea, what you have there is basically a copy of a CD which has all the "mysteriously leaked" (been over a year now I think?) Gift Of Screws demos on it....

I think pretty much all frequenters of the LB Ledge forum have their own self-made-mp3-to-wav-converted copies of this "album" now....but it seems that a good majority of these demos will be songs on the new Fleetwood Mac album, due next April.

The demos appeared on the net in mp3 format, and as far as I know nobody is quite sure who the original source was....

Incidentally, what is your copy of Given Thing like? I have one that doesn't really have lyrics, just some mutterings. It is such a typically Lindsey quirky, crazy song, but it's a bummer that it is not finished, at least my version. Does anyone have a finished version?

I have the same version as you....56kbps...really bad quality...totally unfinished.....muttering......but I still really like it!

It sounds totally Tusk-era to me....in particular it reminds me of That's Enough For Me.

"Given Thing" actually sounds a lot like "The Ledge." The drums are very similar.

Playing it in WinAmp the display shows me that the file has 128kps and 44khz. I once too had a 56kb version but somewhere found the other one then. It plays 1:53 minutes. My file too is not of real great quality compared to other ones we have. But if anyone likes to get this one to see if it`s different from his version in terms of quality or length- feel free to contact me and I`ll mail it along. BTW I like it- it`s a witty one. CU, S
