Default "You Make Loving Fun" downloads

The Fleetwood Mac Legacy site has some versions of "You Make Loving Fun" available for download this week. There are 2 Fleetwood Mac live versions & a few cover versions, including one by Cyndi Lauper. Just click on SOTW on the left side of the page & it'll take you to the download page.

Woohoo, Cyndi! Have you heard the cover, Mary Anne? It's really good. She got paid to sound like Chris back in '77.

Not yet. I just downloaded the track & haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. But I will this evening. I knew that Cyndi had covered YMLF, but I've never heard it. I'll let you know what I think of it after I listen to it.

I had no interest in anyone else doing YMLF, but I've now DL'd it. It's waaay overproduced, but she does do a good job on the vocals.
I HATE the sax(you know I have horn issues!).

It's OK. It's radically different than THE version, which I love. Like Homer, I like Cyndi's vocals...not sure about the rest though. The problem is that the Rumours version is simply perfection. I LOVE the funky YMLF.

goldustsongbird, when did Cyndi record this?

Okay, call me crazy, but that sounds nothing like Cyndi Lauper!

Yeah, isn't that weird? She sounds different. It's definitely Cyndi, though!

1977. It was the first thing she officially recorded and had released. She was paid like, 12 bucks to record some tracks and that was one of 'em.

Now what I wanna know is, what other tracks did she record, and who has them locked up in a vault?

That is pretty weird! She's supposed to sound like Chris. I'd say for someone with a squeaky NY accent, she didn't do too badly imitating a throaty English broad.

I totally think the squeakiness is put-on, tho. Or ... well, has she talked about how her speaking voice sounds totally different now than it did way back when?

She hasn't... I don't think. She can sound pretty squeaky even now, but she's definitely a lot deeper voiced than she used to let on. I guess it went along with her whole cartoony look.
