Whatssaamatah baby for sure. Stevie's low point and to this day surprised they let it through on such a slick album. That said it had some potential with a few less whatsa mata's and definitely that stares at the stares and the doors in the hallway. At least they weren't the colour of honey yet. Solo wise, hands-down the nightmare, where to begin with that song, it felt groovy the first time I heard it at 21, but man, not good.

So, I picked Fire Burning as a song that I like that's generally considered bad -- although, I really didn't know that it was considered bad, before now.

For songs I like that are considered bad, Gate and Garden gets my vote. It's just so beautifully sung that I can't resist it, regardless of the lyrics.

Gate and Garden is my favorite out of the ones listed, though I'm not really sure why it's considered a "bad" song. You could call it a throwaway track and it's probably the weakest on Wild Heart but I still really like it. Cheaper Than Free takes the worst song cake for me. Remember when she said "This may be the best song that Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart ever do" ? What the f................

I'd put "Welcome to the Room...Sara" on the list. It's one of her worst non-sequitur lyrics: "well it's not home...and it's not Tara...in fact, do I know you?...have I been here before?...this is a dream, right....deja vu...did I come here...on my own...oh I see..." Normally I like Nicks' lyrics quite a bit but this song was just SO rambling.

And the music. Well the demo actually adds some heft to the song, which is completely lost in Lindsey's "Let's make this an island theme" production arrangement. Honestly, it is *baffling*. It's one of the few times when I think Lindsey actually deliberately sabotaged a song of Nicks' in the arrangement/production stage.

For me, Nicks had a hell of a high standard musically from the white album through The Wild Heart, started to falter on Rock A Little, and then Tango was just incredibly disappointing. Considering that Buckingham and McVie both turned in some great music then, had Nicks been at her previous quality, Tango really could have rivaled Rumours. She came back a bit with TOSOTM, but then she had a long spell of very pedestrian music: Behind The Mask, Street Angel.....only "Paper Doll" and "Sweet Girl" showed signs of her former songwriting quality. That's why TISL is so great - she came roaring back to life with that album, and her releases since then have been excellent.

Not a fan of "The Nightmare" on the actual album...BUT... I LOVE the 12" remix version, which is a completely different vocal "take" and a different arrangement. That track is ROCKING!!!

I voted for "Gate & Garden" which is a song that I cannot live without! It is AMAZING and I can't imagine "The Wild Heart" without it. I was completely stunned after joining this forum and seeing so much HATRED for it.

In my opinion, that honor would go to "I Will Run To You".

I don't think I'm going to vote for any of these. I think if I had to pick my least favorite, it's probably a tossup between Races Are Run and It's Late.

Edit: I lied, I voted for that other song I always skip: That Made Me Stronger.

No one told you? It's so bad. "A huge fire was burning".

Still a conflicting explanation.

I picked a song that I love (one that is generally unloved). It's a not song I love to hate.

Is this what you meant?

I actually really love that song and think it's way superior to SDMHA That being said though it isn't one of the "standout" tracks on that record.

I always had to skip "Sometimes It's A Beach" on Timespace at work because some of the co-workers did not want to hear the cursing.Good grief .Thats nothing compared whats played on the radio and TV today.

I liked the tune myself .

I agree with most of these. I voted for The Nightmare, just so it would be in a three way tie for 2nd place. Dreadful song.

I would have left off this list:
Gate and Garden
Without You
If You Were My Love

I would have added to this list:
Sister Honey
Welcome to the Room Sara
and Mabel Normand (sorry).
