Just because they're singing at a wedding doesn't mean they were HIRED to be the "wedding singers". They could've just been GUESTS at the wedding (& Lindsey had his guitar in the car truck)...borrowed the mic from the hired band for a song or two.

Yep, that's them.

Yes. Judging by the way Stevie is holding her arms, and Lindsey is playing guitar, I am going to authenticate it. Plus I recognize Lindsey’s guitar from their early days of Buckingham Nicks.

well, he says he BELIEVES it is them; he did not say he knew for sure it was them. So his OPINION is that it is them, but he claims no knowledge of where this would have been or exactly when it was.

It still looks "off" to me. I'd love to get either Stevie or Lindsey to say, but the chances of that are pretty slim.

I thought him recognizing Lindsey's guitar was sound verification for the male. The female, does indeed look like Stevie, so I didn't need further convincing on that score.

He may well be right; I'm just saying there's still something 'off' about the pic to me that's all.

Unless the guitar is a one-of-a-kind, I'm not sure how that would eliminate it being a fake. It certainly puts more weight in the "legit" column but it doesn't mean it couldn't be a clever fake.

I'd forgotten about this picture til the subject of asking Richard came up, but looking at it afresh it still struck me as not quite right. Don't get me wrong, I'm not losing any sleep over this. But my skeptical side still retains some skepticism.

No, I know what you mean. I was skeptical as well. I accept Richard's authentication and am glad greendaze asked him about it, because people make up all kinds of things all of the time.

So, here's a new picture from that day. The girl who shared it said: "stevie's wearing her mom's wedding dress. they were paid $50 for the performance. (they were friends of friends.)" and her mother (who was there) added: "The music was background (no dancing)but definitely NOT a hippy wedding".

Edit: I've asked for a location and she is checking, believes it was in Saratoga CA.

Edit 2: The wedding was at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA in August of 1971.

^^^ Great pic! Thanks for sharing. Wow! Lindey really flattened out the top front of his hair. I hate it! I wonder if that was his idea or Stevie's? LOL The flat part just doesn't mesh with the curls around the rest of his head...and I think that (plus the angle) is the reason that people thought the first picture that surfaced wasn't them. Always looked like Stevie to me, but Lindsey's hair (and the fact that it's styled in a way we, as fans, are not used to seeing) made him look suspect, IMO.

I love Lindsey's mismatched outfit-- the green/blue pants (velvet??) and the pinstriped black jacket that looks a little big. No stylists yet~ lol

He still looks a tad husky here, compared to later pics.

Yeah, I didn't think about embedding the tweet. Call me old school... but it's not hard to embed the original tweet either.

Since I was asking for additional info I didn't feel like embedding all of those and they were still happening at the time.

I just read a tweet from @kidchamp who shared this for her cousin. She said her cousin is the bride and groom's daughter and has always hoped Stevie & Lindsey would see pics & sign one day.

Maybe that can happen for her.

Stevie perfected her dour facial expression early on, as well as her penchant for wearing wedding dresses to other people's weddings!

It's really an amazing photo, being that it's two years prior to their Buckingham Nicks album. What year did they leave Fritz?

It's interesting how some surmised that this photo was just before they joined Fleetwood Mac. Stevie's hairstyle screams of an era just before Buckingham Nicks.
