I'm not sure if its really that hard to do live. There's nothing that hard about the music, I think the way they arranged it for the Mirage tour was just a misfire. All three bellowing "HOLD ME" without any kind of rhythm before concluding with "YEAHHH" was probably not the best way to translate it live.

I'm not a big fan of the song, but Ive actually seen a tribute band called Rumours ATL perform it quite well. Each of the three lead singers took turns saying "Hold me" on the chrous, layering over each other slightly to mimic the album. I thought it came across much more smoothly than the Mirage tour version and made it more interesting as it gave each singer a moment to shine.

They'll probably play it similarly to the way Christine arranged it for her solo tour though, which isn't bad. Anything is better than the original live arrangement.

I agree that they do a good job on it. I saw them a few months ago, and they were great. Honestly... $12 vs $350 (what I paid for my OWTS ticket), I'd almost rather just go see them!

Same. They sing everything I'd like to hear (of the big songs anyway, not expecting them to pull out Sisters of the Moon, Isn't it Midnight, or Eyes of the World here), are great musicians, and always put on a great show. And like you said- that price difference. I heard Stevie sing Dreams on her last tour and I heard Rumours sing it a few weeks ago... gotta say I enjoyed the latter perfomance much more.

It's easier to convince non-Mac heads to go to a 12$ show as well.

Yep. And even though Stevie is my least favorite FM member, "their" Stevie IS the show. They're all very good, but she IS Stevie. With actual "recording" singing range.

Funny, even though the actual Stevie probably comes out slightly ahead of Christine in my ranking I almost prefer the fake Stevie too. When the cover band played "Seven Wonders" and the girl belted out "on the way down, on the way down to Emmaline" with an actual singing range I was stunned. Makes me wish the original song sounded like that.

I know. It's truly sad when a cover band sounds better than the real artist! But they are 25 years younger, so they still have singing range left intact.

I can't wait to see them again! The real deal AND the fake. The fake is much nicer to my bank acct.

The set list, she said, will include eight songs from the new record and many of the classic Fleetwood Mac hits that she sang including “Everywhere” and the 1982 hit “Hold Me,” which was not included on the most recent Fleetwood Mac tour.
Yes!

When I heard SOTM on the OWTS tour, I cringed. It was awful compared to the original.

Yeah, I didn't see the tour but from the audio SOTM does sound a bit underwhelming compared to the studio cut. The thing about that song is that it doesn't even necessarily need to be sung that well to be awesome (see the Mirage tour video). I think it's that lack of range now.

It'd be great if the band could choose some songs that are a bit more fitting for her current voice. "Dreams" doesn't come across nearly as well anymore because of it, but I'd argue that "Gold Dust Woman", "Edge of Seventeen" and "Stand Back" got stronger with time. In these songs she's able to just shout her way through it. I think she could similarly pull off "Everybody Finds Out", "Long Distance Winner", "No Spoken Word", "Fall From Grace", "Running Through the Garden", "Straight Back", "Say You Will", "Thrown Down", "Long Way to Go", or the original arrangement of "Smile at You". Problem is that these are all deep cuts :/

Not to say she can't pull off stuff like "Landslide", "Beautiful Child", "Bella Donna", or "Dreams" anymore... it's just her new voice will inevitably be compared unfavorably with the old on those songs.

Exactly, SOTM was alright but going down instead of up on "to me" just doesn't cut it.

I think she could still pull off BC, I'd love to see it again on an FM tour, it was fine on the SYW tour.

I spent all my concert money on the classic west. I would love to see Lindsey and Christine, but I'm holding out for Fleetwood Mac in July. Anyway though, I'm assuming there will be videos on YouTube. I am really excited to see Hold Me.

Classic East here, but I'm also going to see Buck Vie. Please, tell me what to expect after July 16.

I got good seats at classic west, which is six concerts, for the price of good seats at one Fleetwood Mac concert. I am perfectly content with not seeing Lindsey and Christine live. I will see them play Hold Me on YouTube. That is really the only song I would go see them for anyway. I don't want to see them play any of their new songs and the Fleetwood Mac songs that they're going to play, I would rather just see Fleetwood Mac. Who knows, maybe Hold Me will be on their 2018 farewell set list.
