^What a unique and thoughtful present. It was a dragonless Sunday night so that will definitely help with the withdrawal pangs.
You made such a mark on Kelly that I'm sure she'll relay the entire message to Stevie. Michele |

On way home now, but just remembered Lindsey kept looking at his right hand fingernails. Maybe he broke a finger picking nail? I dont know, but I didnt see any blood or anything.

She says it's the kind of sound that attracted Mick to them, but she said that Lindsey reminded her, on stage, in front of 16,000 people (16,000 Stevie? What venue was that?) that Mick was never attracted to them. He was looking for a lead guitar player and nowhere in his ad for a "lead guitar player" were the words "and his girlfriend" included.
The venue she's talking about is the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Also, Lindsey didn't bring it up, Mick did. It looks like he felt Lindsey should get the credit he deserves for telling Mick if they wanted Lindsey in the band they had to take Stevie too. I can't get it to load so, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrLSdEieSaE |

I imagined a conversation where they were discussing whether or not Lindsey should sing on SOTM the way he has in the past and it probably never even came up between them, because Lindsey has no memory of singing SOTM live in the past. Period. So, so much for me guessing what goes on behind the scenes. I meant to mention that after the Without Love vocals, I think, both Lindsey and Stevie moved towards Mick and they kind of finished the song together that way. I thought it was lovely, not only because it brought the introduction to the song in which all of them participated full circle, but because it reminded me of the past, like SYLM from The Dance or Tusk when Christine, John and Lindsey would all huddle together while playing. When they are in physical proximity during a song, they feel more like a group. It's heartwarming. Michele |

So, Stevie gets Mick and Lindsey mixed up? There are some nights when that's been a problem.

My GYOW uploading now. Taking forever.
Anyway, during the Dream Catcher speech Stevie does at the end of the show, she mentioned that they appreciate the fact that we have been seeing them perform these same songs for 35 years now, coming to the shows over and over again, and that makes them appreciate doing them over and over again. Really sweet and heartfelt speech. Playing Devil's Advocate here, but I bet she sees some of us so much she's familiar with some of our faces. She's gotta be. That's maybe what made her think of that - like when she gets maybe sick of doing Rhiannon or Dreams, she sees us there for it each time and thinks, Well - they're not sick of it yet. It makes her probably feel better about doing those same songs, over and over. I dunno. Oh, Stevie had a REALLY pretty diamond necklace on - like a diamond chain. Soon as the dang video is up on Youtube I will post a link here. Jamie

Oh, burn! I don't care how high you are, that surely never happened. Lindsey is Lindsey. Mick is Mick. Never the twain shall be confused.

She's like, "we throw them out, you throw them back, we throw them out, you throw them back . . . " I was almost afraid we'd be on an infinite dreamcatcher loop.
Certainly, when they perform the songs with energy and excitement, it's easy to feel like you're hearing them for the first time. And after awhile, you have a sense of being part of the performance. There's a participatory vibe that's infectious. Michele |

Here's my GYOW. It's a little shakey, but it definitely gives you the feel of being down in front.

I know. I'm like one of those newspaper writers who do the concert reviews.
I'm trying to think where the phrase Without Love comes from. It feels vaguely it must have to do with someone I like for it to stick in my head. I always want to say it. It feels like maybe something Loy and Powell would do that I would make a note of, but I don't know. Anyway, when Lindsey said that Say Goodbye was actually a mate to Without You, I was thinking that a song called Without Love would be a good mate -- not about there being no love left, but having to live without that person in your life, upon whom so many things revolved for so long.
