WHILE us lot in Blighty shivered as the new year bells tolled, rawk legend Alice Cooper, 62, pulled together some famous pals for a special show in Hawaii.


Movie star Michael Douglas, 66, and his actress wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 41, were in the crowd to hear School’s Out performed by Alice, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood, 63, Mike Kroeger of Nickleback and Pat Simmons from the Dooobie Brothers.

The bash was held at the restaurant which Alice owns with Clint Eastwood in Maui and raised cash for www.mauifoodbank.org

Alice Cooper Jams With Metallica, Nickelback & Fleetwood Mac Supergroup

(RTTNews) - Alice Cooper jammed with a string of rockers from Metallica, Nickelback, and Fleetwood Mac at the MALA benefit in Maui last week.

Cooper appeared alongside Metallica's James Hetfield, Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood, Mike Kroeger of Nickelback, and Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers for a one-night only performance of classic hits such as Cooper's 1972 smash "School's Out."

The show formed part of a two-night celebrity concert series at the Maui Theatre in Lahaina to benefit the Maui Food Bank.

Cooper recently commented on his decision to perform in Maui, noting that Maui is "the best place to wake up in the world anyway because [it's] sort of halfway between Earth and heaven."

Alice Cooper rang in the new year by joining fellow Hall Of Famers James Hetfield (Metallica) and Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwod Mac), along with Pat Simmons (The Doobie Brothers) and Mike Kroeger (Nickelback), on stage in Maui to form a new rock n’ roll supergroup for one night only.

The group got together to play on New Year's Eve for the MALA Benefit, which helped the Maui Food Bank.

The benefit was the second of two nights fronted by the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band; they played Dec. 30 at a Maui Celebrity Series concert at Maui Theatre in Lahaina, before suiting up for the New Year’s benefit Mala Wailea to benefit the MACC and the Maui Food Bank.

Fronted by guitarist/singer Rick Vito, the Grammy-nominated Blues Band includes bassist Lenny Castellanos and keyboardist Mark Johnstone; the band is augmented by Island Rumours' singers Eric Gilliom and Gretchen Rhodes.

No video of the supergroup in action has surfaced, but we’ll keep our eyes open and let you know if it does.

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper rang in the New Year by joining fellow Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers James Hetfield (METALLICA) and Mick Fleetwood (FLEETWOD MAC) along with Pat Simmons (THE DOOBIE BROTHERS) and Mike Kroeger (NICKELBACK) on stage in Maui, Hawaii. The "supergroup" got together to play on New Year's Eve at a special party at Mala Wailea to benefit the MACC and the Maui Food Bank.
