It’s funny, but a lot of the criticism about them post-1997 was something I saw coming in 1997. I always saw The Dance as Fleetwood Mac’s kiss of death, especially the Landslide kiss. Christine was obviously just having a last hurrah, Lindsey takes too painfully long to make albums, and Stevie had her solo career. It ended up being worse than I imagined, but not by much.
