I like Stevie. I always will.

Christine always escapes criticism on here. Where was she when the band sacked Lindsey? She sat back and allowed it to happen. So much for their friendship. It was only a couple of years ago that they recorded an album and toured together. The whole email thing is Christine's way of trying to save face. The Bob Welch RARHOF controversy is proof that Christine isn't above being a cunning and petty woman.

100% agree. Not only does that happen on this board, it apparently happens in the FM milieu as well, what with the "email from Christine" and "Christine is in England" and so on and so forth. It was the behavior around her that made me most suspicious in regards to this entire situation. Nobody's gonna tell me that the person with the most hits and the longer tenure with the band had nothing to do with this—(the one who managed to get through HOW MANY guitarists? Didn't like Bob Welch, didn't like Dave Mason, etc and so on...how many times can this happen to Fleetwood/McVie/McVie and it's just bad luck for them? Looks like they couldn't get along with anybody well before Stevie Nicks showed up...)

Even if the band presented the firing to her as a "done deal" (which seems implausible), Christine could have responded as follows: "Whether this decision is reversible or not, just know I will not remain in the band unless it includes both Stevie and Lindsey. It changes nothing if the person quits, is fired, gets sick, or dies. I won't call this thing Fleetwood Mac without them both."

Saying as much would have preserved the band's good name, or at least absolved Christine of being a part of tarnishing it. It may well also have kept the band in tact.

Perhaps Stevie approached Christine ahead of time to get her assurance that she would not take such a position. If so, Christine shouldn't have given it.

I have been meaning to ask about SisterNightRoad... I hope everything is ok and she's well, and that her absence has nothing to with illness or anything like that. She was a wonderful moderator.

And so is jbrownsjr. I know we see this latest FM rift very differently, but I really appreciate that you do this so we all have a place to talk about FM.

She wouldn’t have said something like that, though.

Let’s say she quit. What next? Wait a year or two for Lindsey to finish his obligations? SHE’S 75!!! Since coming back, she’s done an album, three tours, sold her mansion and condo, and moved into a bustling London neighborhood. She’s clearly raging against becoming isolated again.

But the notion she’d go against the band her fortunes have been tied to for over 50 years is laughable. She’s not going to pick Lindsey over Mick and John.

***k off! If my wife reads that she'll get worried.

PS: After 6 months or so, I've finally forgiven her- I love her again. (Chris, not my wife).

PPS: Though I still love my wife too.

Basically for 24 years she did nothing but record, promote, tour and go to rehab. She’s had a longer career than many of her contemporaries and even in later years though her recording output has reduced she has toured pretty consistently.

I’d call that working her butt off.
Uh clearly you didnt realize that I was making a remark in regards to the last 15 years or so...but thanks for the regurgitating the stevie nicks discography, how could any of us forget...

Or in her case, 1987 involved NOT working with him!

True. He should be proud of that album. He and Sandy Stewart are the only two people responsible for her even being able to appear on that album. Without Seven Wonders, she wouldn't of even had a single the label could release. But alas here we are 30 years later and people forget these details.

wow. so do i love Stevie Nicks thread [completely expectedly] becomes dump on Christine McVie thread.

Lindsey and Christine are ok. no matter how much people try, that's not gonna change. and 2 of them have pieces of story that we do not.

yup. when she used renewed huge Fleetwood Mac popularity to effectively kill the band and resurrect her solo career. took her 20 years, a lot of digs on primarily LB, but she finally did it!
