So shocking and so sad. We must be thankful what we have gotten these past years. After 2004 we never thought we would hear her perform again. She came back and toured with the Mac on 2 long tours and did another tour with Lindsey. I never did think I would hear Songbird performed again when The Dance finished in 1997.

Its devastating for sure. I think she was the oldest in the band but she seemed timeless.

Just got home and opened Facebook to read the Fleetwood Mac announcement. I'm very sad. Christine gifted us some of the most beautiful songs. Thank you for YOUR music.

She was my favorite member of the band by far. She had such talent, wit, and grace. She has never gotten the credit she deserved for being a real music pioneer -- a woman who sang, wrote her own songs, and played an instrument, in an era when that was mostly unheard of. May her music live forever.

Wow. To say I was shocked when they had an announcement on XM would be an understatement. I just heard this five minutes ago as I was ending a long drive after spending the week at the funeral of one of my best friends. I thought I couldn’t get any sadder but here we are.

What a great blessing that she came out of retirement to record one more truly fabulous album with her musical kindred: Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and her ex-husband John McVie. Wish it could have been the beginning of many more.

I saw the news on facebook and thought it was a cruel joke. I can't believe it!

I always thought she was in the best shape out of everyone in FM. I guess I just expected her to live to be a 100.

She will be so very missed. So glad I got to see her in 2018 when FM played Pittsburgh but I never thought that would be the last time.

Our beautiful Christine is gone. I feel like I lost a family member, but to us she was family. My heart is just broken. I am playing her music on Alexa right now.

I am absolutely devastated, along with all of you! I am younger, and they are my favorite band of all time. I was fortunate enough to see them three times; the best was when they all 5 were together again and prior to Lindsey leaving, in my opinion. RIP, Songbird. We'll meet again someday!

I have not focused since I heard over an hour ago. Mr. Scarlott. I cannot stop listening to WHY and it brings tears to my eyes. I am just devastated. I never thought Chris would be the first to go.

RIP to this wonderful singer/songwriter.

I don’t know whether that’s the right sentiment, but it’s what sprang to my mind. I am truly heartbroken today. I knew this was going to come, and yet I thought it was still far off.
Chris, you had a great life and made a lot of people happy.
