For me the answer would be no. When I first encountered the Mac properly (The Dance DVD) I was struck by his playing and the songs, not the way he looked -- it took ages for me to "fall in love" with Lindsey as the sexy man we all know him to be :P
It's been like that with other musicians too for me -- Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears being a notable example personally. I first grew to love his lyrics, then the music, and now I think he's hot stuff!!

Hey that's awesome too! A lot of people don't get that. Hell, I just enjoy being in the same venue as him!

yeah, the man is a genius at work when hes playing those shows
to get the cd, my seat was like 20+ rows back, and by the end of the show i was up front-there were like no security people. except to yell at me for using flash...once or twice, so i went up front, and at the end just handed him the booklet thingy. i was so happy he did that for me
he truely is a really nice guy

Yeah, he is a REALLY nice guy and that's what makes me like him even more. And he obviously doesn't have to do the "fan stuff" but he does and is so humble about it.

It makes you forget the stuff people have said about him being 'violent'
