you know the scenario: You're jamming out to this great song, singing along, when you realize you've been singing the wrong lyrics for years!

My personal experience with this has been on "That's All For Everyone"

the line: "Must be just exactly what i need"

i always thought was, "Must be just too sexy for my dreams"

and i was like, "Yeah Lindsey, Stevie's too sexy EVEN in YOUR DREAMS!"

what are your Lyric mixups??

-Miranda
I always have thought he was saying something about "sexy". Go figure!

For a long time I thought that On SYLM Christine was singing "I must say, baby, it's an honor for a girl like me."

I really like that! "I must say, baby, it's an honor for a girl like me."
--- 'to be falling, falling, falling at your feet!"
I think I like it better than the correct lyric!

I find myself singing the live versions of songs a lot and then when I hear the studio version, I have to catch myself.

It's embarassing to blurt out "Well-l-l, I don't think you do!" And have people look at you and conclude you just don't know the words to the song, even though you call yourself a fan.

I know when Lindsey's UTS tour started, I was used to singing Show You How one way and he changed the vocal arrangement for the live show. I hadn't lived with that single very long, because the album had only recently been released, so he easily tripped me up at the concert. Then, after I saw a few shows and downloaded a boot, I found that I started messing up the words when singing along to the record, because I was so used to the live version.

I read this and said aloud, 'She's NOT singing honour?!'

I like honour better

All the time! My friend suggested lately that I should sing Go Your Own Way on RockBand ... but it was the original version, so I hadn't heard it in years and I probably would have got it all wrong! Some weird mash up of The Dance / Live in Boston / Mirage / Unleashed / various bootlegs. Definitely would have failed it!

For many, many years, I misheard the lyrics for 'Edge of Seventeen'. Even though the lyric sheets say differently, I still think she says 'I've been searching for an answer, I've been standing down the hall'

I used to always think in Rooms On Fire she said, "It seemed to be the only thing that's died in the light." instead of "left out in the light".
And still to this day, I swear she says "that's died in the light" even tho I know the lyrics say differently.

I always thought in Sara it was "And i knew it, ooh places i'm going places" instead of "undoing laces" and all that. I blame my substandard tape deck
