Default Lindsey's alternate tunings

Here's a partial list I've compiled:

Songs on which Lindsey tunes down a half-step:
Eyes of the World (SYW tour)
Beautiful Child (SYW tour)
Bleed to Love Her

Songs in Drop D:
The Chain (capoed on 2nd fret for all performances prior to 1997)
Never Going Back Again (capoed on 4th fret on studio version, on 3rd fret on SYW tour)
World Turning (tuned down a half-step for SYW tour)
Gold Dust Woman
Murrow Turning Over in his Grave (tuned down a step to C-G-C-F-A-D on SYW, tuned down two steps to Bb-F-Bb-Eb-G-C on Soundstage)
Here Comes the Sun from NYE 2001 (tuned down a step)

Songs in Open Tuning:
Over My Head: Open D
Red Rover: Open G (capoed on 3rd fret for studio version, tuned down a half-step for live versions)
Say Goodbye: Open G7 (D-G-D-F-B-D) (tuned down a half-step for live versions)
Down On Rodeo: Open G (either tuned up a half-step or capoed on the 1st fret for studio version)
Love Minus Zero: Open G (tuned up a half-step to open Ab for the live version from AHI Benefit 01)
Trouble (Soundstage): Open Ab
SGCYM (Soundstage): Open F

Thanks, Mike! That's fantastic!

It's great to provide alternative tunings.

Don't forget the OotC version of "Never Going Back Again" in open tuning...but some weird tuning I've yet to figure out.

I don't think so, since his fingering is totally different than on any other version I've seen. It has to be some odd tuning rather than just a Drop D variation.

Hmm...I've never actually seen it...but what I've heard sounds almost exactly like what he was playing on the SYW tour, except a lot lower.

Hey,

I managed to find the tabs to the Rare On Air Version of NGBA along with the alternate tuning that its played in. I hope this correct and useful to you.
I hope that lovely solo part of NGBA that he plays now that wasnt on Rumours is on those tabs also.

That's the same tuning I mentioned, but enharmonically incorrect. A# to F is a diminished 6th, not a perfect 5th as it should be. =P

Cool

So in that case what is the correct tuning for it.
Cos what you said is way too much for me to understand yet. Sounds good though.
!!!
And it sounds close when i try to play it

Phew. Alternate tunings other than Drop D are still pretty much over my head. But I try to manage some songs in standard tuning. For example, I can play Red Rover pretty accurately with a capo on the 4th in standard tuning. As long as it's working for me, I guess, I'm happy.

(I'd still LOVE to learn how to play Here Comes the Sun, if there is a tab somewhere or if someone can create one.)

Step away (FAR away) from Lindsey's abomination and learn George Harrison's licks.

Yeah but the tuning and the tabs would be as good as the advice though.

I'd say: study it until you bleed and copy it perfectly for ChiliD's birthday surprise party. I'll fly over to look at his face while you play it and afterwards we'll drink a beer ( several ) with him. . Quarreling about it until morning.....
