Yes, something about this being a great joy for both Peter and the audience, and that the setlist will consist of some Mac numbers and Peter's favourite blues classics... or is my German long lost?

You're lucky indeed!
Hope they come to Norway!

If my schoolboy German has not escaped me, it says something like this.

Today Peter Green plays with a rock band, which is a great combination of experience and youth. (talks about Watkins and other band members). The first European concerts promise to be a relaxed and joyful return to the stage for both sides, Peter and his public. The set consists of some Mac/Green classics and a selection of Peter's favourite Blues classics. A great chance to experience a bluse guitar legend for the first time in 5 years!

Or something very like that

ab- thanks for the translation. for those lucky enough to be there it will be something. will it be with this group that peter doesn't play most of the leads or do vocals on some songs? it looks to be a great band either way - hope so. zero

It was a great performance yesterday in Downtown Bluesclub, Hamburg. The Gig was sold out (maybe 350 People in the audience) and the band played very well. It’s unbelievable that it was just the 4th gig they did together. There is great harmony between them.

Pete – out off stage always escorted by 3 german bodyguards – was in good shape. He played fine and smiled very often very lucky. The set list was the same as in the Paradiso in Amsterdam:

01. Blues Don´t Change - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Albert King)
02. Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You - Lead vocals: Mike Dodd (Bob Dylan)
03. Dance On - Instrumental (Hank Marvin)
04. Many Rivers To Cross - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Jimmy Cliff)
05. Guess I’m A Fool - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Memphis Slim)
06. Albatross - Instrumental (Peter Green)
07. When Lights Go Out - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Willie Dixon)
08. That Lucky Old Sun - Lead vocals: Mike Dodd (B. Smith/H. Gillespie)
09. Stranger Blues - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Elmore James)
10. Off The Hook - Lead vocals: Mike Dodd (Jagger/Richard)
11. Long Grey Mare - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Peter Green)
12. The Stumble - Instrumental (Freddie King)
13. The Thrill Is Gone - Lead vocals: Peter Green (B.B. King)
Zugaben/Encore:
14. A Rainy Night in Georgia - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Tony Joe White)
15. Black Magic Woman - Lead vocals: Peter Green (Peter Green)

I think it’s very interesting, they are playing now only 5 or 6 songs that contained through the past to Pete’s repertoire. But all the new ones sound fantastic and are well chosen.

The audience enjoyed the show very much and went after 90 minutes satisfied home. Some of them missed “Oh Well” in the set, but Mike Dodd promised them to play it in the future: “Give us some more time. We’ll play it someday…Today it’s just our 4th gig.” Mike clearly took over the part of Nigel and is talking mostly to the audience until the shows.

Dear people, I hope my review was a little bit interesting for you.

At the end I have two questions about the new songs. Maybe you can help: I think DANCE ON is a very great instrumental. Does anybody know who wrote/composed it or who recorded it in the past. And I like CHICKEN WINDOW too, but don’t know anything about that song. Some informations would be kind.

Best wishes and regards
Manfred

Thank you very much for your review. I'm very interested if or how the German newspapers will review the concert too.

Peter Green has often said that one of his earliest influences was Hank Marvin of the The Shadows (the original band that started with Cliff Richard...). I am assuming that it is the same one as their early sixties hit named Dance On. It was written by V. and E. Murtaugh, R. Adams

Not sure of the origin of Chicken Window though...

Thanks much for the gig review.... I can only hope they tour in the UK.....
