I've been close to her a few times and I never smelled that nasty cigarette smell. I didn't smell anything, actually.
Some of the fans on the other hand....

Even if she still smoked, I don't think she would let herself smell like cigarettes out in public.

If she did, I would wager she was unexpectedly in the vicinity of someone who was smoking near her. I think she could have a multi-pack habit and still make sure that she never smelled of her own smoke. There's a stigma against that now that didn't exist in the old days.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading something where she said she likes Estee Lauder Private Collection- Tuberose Gardenia. I also have it my head that she likes Fracas, I think that came from a thread here on The Ledge.

When I met her for the DVD signing she smelled like she was wearing a fragrance that was light and powdery, like old fashioned dusting powder.

Powder, heh.
