Question security shoving hot young girls in front of Lindsey?

this is from the report by MadnessFades, from Dublin yesterday:

some people were reporting stuff like this at the end of the US leg too.

seems weird. so fans like Madness can come and stand in line really early for GA entrance but don't get to stand at the stage?

someone else noticed this? (sounds kinda like something that would be done for some metal band with groupies or something ) if it's happening, whose idea is it? Lindsey's? band security's?

I would hope Lindsey is not that lecherous. If it was him, I suggest people petition Kristen to put a stop to it.

well, he definitely likes to flirt and i'm sure he doesn't mind pretty young girls fawning over him, that's only natural. that said, i would be surprised if it was his idea, tbh. he seems really happy to see familiar faces, male or female, young or old, hot or not so much, and interacts with all. you normally don't see him paying more attention to hot young girls than other people at the stage, everybody gets equal share of interactions - and loads of it!

but who knows?

I don't think it's his idea. If it was, Stevie would have already put a stop to it before it even happened.

why would she put a stop to it if it was his idea but not if it was FM's crew or security or somebody like that?

I'm not sure who among the band is privy to that part of the show, but I see her as the most likely candidate to observe that. Maybe if she knew who exactly among the crew who is responsible for that, but surely they couldn't be blind to it, IDK.

Foot, meet mouth.

Maybe she's doing it to keep him occupied and out of her hair. Maybe she sends Karen out to lasso up young gals.

Yes, while he might appreciate the pulchritude, I don't think he would like the idea that veteran, familiar fans were being pushed back to make room for people who are casual fans at best. They may know Looking Out for Love, vaguely.

I'm sure both Lindsey and Mick are happy to see young, pretty faces up front, to break up the geritol crowd a bit, but, I agree with what you both said. I really can't see Lindsey making such a request. I think the security guy just may be a little gung-ho in trying to please the boys in the band.

Or maybe the security guy is flirting with these girls himself. He gets them up front and they pay more attention to him.

Don't leave John out of the equation. Just because he doesn't look excited to be there...

Default Standing at front

I witnessed the bands security guy take a group of about 15 to 20 young teenage girls from the foyer right to the front of the stage in front of LB, this guy then refused me to go to the front from my 3rd row seat.

Who are these girls? Where do they find so many young girls that want to see Fleetwood Mac? I am sure they dont even know who the band is. Do they get paid ? How do these guys get away with this behaviour? There is something way wrong with this set up. We have paid high prices for great seats and unless we stand we dont see over the gaggle of boozed up girls flirting with LB! I dont mind standing but at least let people who have paid high prices the choice to be at the front. The venue security have no control over this activity, it is purely the bands security that dictates who gets to the stage.

I am quite disgusted and will be writing a strong letter to the Mac organisation. I realise this topic has been discussed on other threads but to be honest I didnt believe it was real as hadn't seen with my own eyes and I have been to quite a few shows in the past.

It has been much harder to get to the front stage on this tour. On past tours I have always got to the front with ease. Anybody else experienced this?

Soon happy my both Amsterdam-concerts were general admission, so mr. Buckingham had to stare at an 45-year old , short, 50-shades of greyhaired guy, with a little overweight at least one night :-)

At these concerts there were lot's of 'young' people, so to pull some young people (and hey, even an 65 year old loves young blondes) would not be that difficicult.

I guess the band just want's enthusiastic, responsive people to play for. In Antwerp I was in the tiers and there where numbered seats on the floor as well (have said it before just don't get it), ALL of the people there kept sitting almost the entire show. Only a small crowd in front of the stage had a ball ... so why not script that as well as the rest of the show?

Yeah, the 'I paid a lot for these tickets' arguments. I understand, but if you paid to be seated all the time. Just buy the DVD!

Could be worse. At Billy Joel gigs they don't sell the front 2 rows. It was originally to stop rich folks taking them up because they could, and not being exactly enthusiastic. So the road crew go to the cheap seats and hand out tickets, but Billy Joel's road crew being all men, those 2 rows go solely to attractive young woman and maybe the odd boyfriend. Billy's even admitted that this happens!

But yeah back to the point, at the gig the other night it was front row only. The last 2 times it was a bit more free roam. Not quite sure what's made them make that decision this tour!
