Default "Dreams" and "Don't Stop" on the 1980 live album

What solid information is there about "Dreams" & "Don't Stop" on the "Fleetwood Mac Live" LP? Are they really from Paris soundcheck? The playing & singing fit that time frame (the "Dreams" on the Paris '77 soundboard sounds exactly like the soundcheck "Dreams" except the soundcheck "Dreams" is slower tempo) but what's the lowdown?

Kind of interesting that "Don't Stop" isn't in the soundboard -- unless our soundboard (15 songs) isn't complete. Seems odd to do it in soundcheck but not the concert.

I don't think that's necessarily so. Alot of groups soundcheck songs that they're working on. Now, I don't know the date of the recording(yes, I'm too lazy to walk 50 feet, and look it up!), but maybe that's the case.
I love the "guitar string break" ending! That's the ending my band uses!

The date isn't given.

Oh, we like the double triplets. We've done DS for probably 4 years now. I don't think I had a CD of the "piano break" ending yet, when we learned it.

Not really, soundchecks are a good way to rehearse a new song before putting INTO the set.

To relieve the monotony of soundchecks, Paul McCartney puts on an entire show during soundcheck, playing totally different songs than he does during his set...as a way to 1) entertain the crew, who've had to endure the same set night after night, and 2) keep himself from getting bored.

David, your signature pic says 1980 but Lindsey's look seems to be from the Mirage tour. R u sure is from the Tusk tour? (he used the Miami Vice style suit)

Since I was at that show, as well, I can vouch that that's definitely the final show of the Tusk tour. Lindsey was wearing the cowboy hat, t-shirt & jeans (ala Travolta in "Urban Cowboy"),as opposed to the jumpsuit & more fedora-type hat of the Mirage tour.

WOW! And do you remember what did they say about taking a break and coming back years later? Mick said in his book that Lindsey said this is our last show for a while or somethinglike that.

"Thank you. We'd like to say thank you very much to all of you for coming to see us tonight. Playing at the Hollywood Bowl is a neat thing to do & we feel very happy that we got to play here. It's something that represents a lot in terms of this town. Also, I'd like to say that this is our last show of a whole year's worth of touring & we hope you enjoy it tonight as much as we do. Thank you. This is a song of Christine's--it's called Don't Stop."

Sometimes they're used at outdoor shows, especially when there's wind noise. Sometimes also, guitar players will be getting an electrical shock when touching their lips to the mic(especially when playing through really old amplifiers, in which the grounding isn't up to snuff). Although if the foamy gets sweat soaked, it won't prevent the shock.
I'm guessing the Stevie pic was an outdoor show....

I'm not.

Sometimes the mind goes to weird places during the guitar solo/duel portion of "Free Bird".
