Here it is, December, time to break out the Christmas music again. I remember last year I saw the making of Silent Night on youtube, actual footage of Stevie recording in the studio. I think it was from Stevie Nicks Info.... now this live performance is all I can find. Does anyone have this video they could post on youtube? I know it would inspire some Christmas spirit for a lot of Stevie fans!

Hi All,It's that time of the year,Is radio playing Stevie's Silent Night?A couple of stations here are.Anyway I will say everytime I hear this song ,I break up,due to my mom,this was her favorite xmas song.it played today at 12noon on the radio , especially today [dec 7] would of been her 78th birthday.I think she had something to do about it. anyway on a happier note have any of you hear if Chris Issacs Santa Cluas is coming to town on the radio alot, I only heard it once.

I don't listen to the radio so I can't say if I've heard it on there BUT I did introduce my mom to this song the other day. She loved it!

I know she recorded this twice, first with Robbie Nevil on back up and then a second...I think live? Which version is better?I have the first one and debating the second, but the 30 second sample is not enough to know if it's worth it.
Any advice?

I was wondering about this too. However it's my understanding that she sang it live one time. In 87 her version was on that Christmas album. But isn't this a different version then what she sang with Robbie Nevil? Maybe a studio version? Also, the second time she did this was in 2001. Is this live or studio though? Both of these are on itunes.

You can go to yes.com, and enter in your zip code, and there will be a list of all your radio stations, and it will show you all the songs they are playing. Silent Night is not on my AC station's list of the top 100 songs played. In fact, Silent Night isn't being played by any artist, whereas Silver Bells and Sleigh Ride have a whole slew of versions by different people being played. Silent Night discrimination!

On this day 22 years ago my mother was born into eternal life. It was the same year that the "A Very Special Christmas Album" was released featuring Stevie Nicks singing Silent Night. My mom loved it and asked me to play it all of the time.

A few months later when she was in hospice, some Carrollers came around and stopped at her room to ask us what we would like to hear. My mom sat up and said Silent Night. !!

They were a chorus of angels and the more they saw me try not to cry the louder and more angelic they would sing. To this day I have never heard it sung more beautifully.

So today I'm dedicating Stevie singing Silent Night for my Mom's Birthday into Eternal rest

I love and miss you and I'm proud to be your son! Merry Christmas Ma, at least I don't have to buy you a Christmas present (sorry Ma I had to)
