I remember hearing Stevie say once that she only ever performed this song one time live. I wonder if this was it?

That's not true, Talk To Me was on the setlist for the Rock A Little, Timespace and Street Angel tours and was last performed at a couple of corporate shows she did in early 2000. Not the first time Stevie's memory is foggy

Your probably thinking of, or maybe it waa stevie wordsbinbwhich case SHE was probably thinking of I can't Wait. Only performed at a,'re rock a little shows and that's it.

Yes, Hawkeye is correct that Stevie said she only sang I Can't Wait live once (which really meant for one tour, her Rock a Little tour), and even then for only half the tour before she dropped it from her set list. She said it was too hard to sing live, but I bet now that she's off coke, she could do the song now!

She never dropped I Can't Wait from the RAL setlist - it was performed at every show on that tour - but only for that tour and never to be heard from again unfortunately.

And it was also on the OSOTM tour setlist early on before being dropped I believe.

I thought I Can't Wait had been dropped from the RAL tour because it wasn't included on Stevie's Red Rocks concert video (I know that video was heavily edited to only 9 songs) and also because I have 2 other RAL concert videos, and I Can't Wait is only on one of them. Glad to hear the song was done the whole tour.

I'm pretty sure Stevie didn't do this song for her OSOTM tour, not even early on.

Yes Stevie did do Talk To Me during the very early parts of the OSOTM tour. Here is a link of her performing her passionless klonopin version of Talk to Me in 1989.
I saw the tour relatively early during this tour in Pittsburgh Sept 1 and Talk to Me was already dropped. She was still doing Juliet though. Juliet was dropped soon there after too.
IMHO the best live version of Talk To Me was done during the Timespace tour. I always prefer the "Talk to me" chorus over the "YOU CAN Talk to me" version anytime.

It was 6:50 am when I responded. Maybe it was me that was confused

I don't know why Stevie does not do a full rock version of I Cant Wait in her sets today. I personally did not think it sounded so bad live in 1986. The song has way too much going on. The song can be stripped of that disco percussion and funk. I think it can be transformed live where it sounds great.
