Default Christine documentary from last year Hold Me music video behind the scenes clips

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B2s0JyrgOc0/

At the end of the clip when Stevie says “we were all full of sand” then it cuts to a clip of Christine sniffing and fidgeting with her nose, it definitely looks like she did a bump of cocaine lol. That’s how one would sniff and fidget after taking a bump.

I wouldn't be surprised, especially if it was Mick's birthday. By all accounts they were pretty out of it at that period in general. Of course, it may have genuinely been the sand- pesky stuff gets everywhere!

Yes: Fleetwood Mac's Songbird- Christine McVie
It was shown on UK's BBC 4 and run for an hour and a half. Not bad.

Wow, I really really enjoyed this short clip. They were so out of control its amazing none of them did go off the deep end. WTF John so drunk he's ready to fight people knocking on his trailer? Stevie shows up late high as a kite. Mick running around with a sword cutting cake and furniture.
They take separate limos to shows but even recording a music video, they keep their distance, have separate trailers, and don't converse.

One tiny detail that stuck out to me. The guy says he first met Christine after they shot the music video Gypsy. Christine said Stevie got to dress up pretty and now its her turn. So the video Gypsy was made before Hold Me? If so, it shows that Warner Brothers wanted to release Gypsy as the lead single. Music videos are usually made in sequence of singles released. But no way in hell when Bella Donna is still on the charts that it would it be cool for Stevie to have the lead off single. So I wonder if they made a change in releasing the first single. Edge of 17 was just dropping out of the top 40 while After the Glitter Fades was released when this video must have been shot.
Just my speculation but something that makes you go hmmmmmmmmmm.

But weren't the Tango videos all shot relatively close together? Because they were releasing Lindsey videos quite a while after he'd left the band.

They'd been sitting in the can for release...

Yes of course the Tango videos were shot relatively close together. However they were shot in sequence of single release. As I mentioned, its speculation on my part. They put a ton of dough into the Gypsy video yet not make it the lead off single.

I believe that is how we ended up with a Stand Back Civil War video. If Anyone Falls was to be the lead single and Civil War theme. But Stand Back was switched but they kept the theming of the video.

I always pay attention to those small details. Forgive me for over-analyzing

I'm certain that the Gypsy and Hold Me videos were done back to back.I think that Gypsy was done in LA in the studio and then they headed out to the desert to film Hold Me. I don't think that the success of the Bella Donna singles had anything to do with Hold Me being the first single. It is easily the most sure fire hit on that album and Stevie always had the second single on all of the "Rumours" line up albums.

Stevie says it came out great. I don't see the Hold Me video as a great one. Never understood why they shot in a desert, it's a bit boring to me. Even more now that they say they were very upset with the heat, the high heels, drunk, etc. I far more enjoy watching Big Love or Gypsy.

I think Hold Me and Everywhere (the one that does not feature the band at all) are my least favorite FM videos.

That was really good. I hope someone releases the entire version.

That was also the first time I've ever watched something, where I was very surprised at how old Stevie looked. As soon as she came on the screen, I was taken aback at how old and senior citizen she appeared. Her makeup was exaggerated and elderly looking. She looked scrunched down in her seat, like her back was bowing. Maybe these last 2 years have aged her substantially, not for the better. Find that hard to believe tho, I thought she's supposed to be deliriously happy?????????????

I never cease to be amazed at the geriatric rock stars who refuse to give it up.

I can see(I guess) doing it into your early 60's. But when you have no voice left, it's just plain embarrassing. John could play until he's 99 if he wanted to. As long as he can still play the notes- that's all that matters. When a singer can no longer hit the notes, or even close.....

Slightly off topic, I've maintained for years that that's why Robert Plant won't do a Led Zep reunion(Steve Perry and Journey, too). If you were a GOD, and have 300 million dollars, don't go back and embarrass yourself at 70, hitting a quarter of the notes. Go enjoy your 300 million, having young hotties feeding you grapes all day, while you sun bathe nude!(got a little side tracked there, didn't I?)

From, what I gathered, “Hold Me” was always considered to be the lead single. That doesn’t mean, however, that work on the “Gypsy” video wasn’t done first. FM were making a two-pronged attack....one on the airwaves and one one MTV. Perhaps the idea of making Gypsy a visual centerpiece was considered first? However, all evidence shows the label and the band expected “Hold Me” to be issued first. At any rate, the chart performance certainly confirms that it was the right choice as lead single.
