Default Mick to be Grammy presenter!

Guess he will be there... hopefully he'll win, but I doubt it will be televised!

Fantastic! Great to see the big guy on stage (as long as Sam Fox isn't presenting with him! ) I wonder what category he's presenting? I hope it makes it onto the telecast.

I really don't expect Mick win in his category, though -- I think Chicago Blues: A Living History will take the Traditional Blues Grammy.

Yes, he's a longshot. I'd love to hear his acceptance speech though, if it happened.

I think he may win it, because the label that released the cd won in the same category last year, so it may be that the label has excellent support amongst the Grammy voters. Repeat Grammy wins happen all the time, and a lot of it may have to do with organized behind the scenes strategies from the record labels.
Of course, Mick also had the visibility of the $50+ million Fleetwood Mac tour in '09. This may encourage votes for him because he managed to release a quality solo cd while still keeping the name brand of Fleetwood Mac before the public.
Rick Vito having had won a songwriter's award (the W.C. Handy Award) in 2002 for writing Blues Song of The Year might possibly help a little, also, since Rick is prominent on Mick's nominated recording this year.
Now we read that Mick is showing up at the ceremony, and presenting an award.
I kinda think the Grammy is Mick's. We'll see. And, fortunately, he's not up for the Grammy in the Tony Bennett Category, nobody ever seems to have a chance of winning that one but Bennett.

THE MICK FLEETWOOD BLUES BAND FEATURING RICK VITO'S 'BLUE AGAIN' NOMINATED FOR 'BEST TRADITIONAL BLUES ALBUM', New Live DVD 'Blue Again' Features Original Compositions and Classic Fleetwood Mac Songs Set For Release January 26,

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 26 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Legendary rock musician Mick Fleetwood has been honored with an invitation to participate in the 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony pre-telecast as a presenter of 15 Grammy awards. The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito has been nominated for their first-ever Grammy in the category of "Best Traditional Blues Album" for the album "BLUE AGAIN." Mr. Fleetwood will be joined for these presentations by Colbie Caillat, herself nominated for 5 Grammy's this year. Together, they will present in the categories of Jazz, Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, and Country. The pre-telecast will be broadcast live on www.grammy.com the day of the show, January 31st. "BLUE AGAIN," released on the Savoy Label Group's 429 Records label, is a powerhouse showcasing of the iconic drummer and Fleetwood Mac co-founder Mick Fleetwood and his Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, a top notch quartet of musicians featuring Rick Vito. Produced by Mick Fleetwood and Rick Vito, the recording is equal parts blues rave-up and loving homage to the early incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, revisiting the blues-based classic songs of early Fleetwood Mac along with several new compositions in riveting live performance. Released on March 17 on 429 Records (home of last year's "Best Contemporary Blues Album" Grammy winner Dr. John), "BLUE AGAIN" was an instant commercial and critical success which debuted in the top 20 on the iTunes Overall Chart and both the Billboard and iTunes Blues charts. In addition, the companion concert performance "BLUE AGAIN" DVD will be released by 429 Records which is distributed by Fontana/Universal in the U.S., Universal Music in Australia and E1 Entertainment in Canada, on January 26, 2010. The 52nd Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on January 31, 2010.

"BLUE AGAIN" was recorded live at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, Missouri in February of 2008. The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band features guitarist, lead vocalist and co-producer Rick Vito, bassist Lenny Castellanos and keyboardist Mark Johnstone alongside the legendary rock drummer. The stellar recording gives classic Fleetwood Mac songs such as "Albatross," "Oh Well" and "Black Magic Woman" (a hit for Fleetwood Mac prior to Carlos Santana's version), a modern and irrepressibly vibrant energy that only a live performance can provide.

The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band is co-managed by Jonathan Todd of Sabre Entertainment and Carl Stubner of Sanctuary Management Group. Contact: info@mickfleetwood.com.
