Default Atlanta and Nashville Weather

Many Ledgies are travelling to Atlanta for the concert this Sat. and to Nasville for the concert on Friday night. So, here are the forecasts from yahoo.com.

http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USGA0028.html is reporting for Atlanta:

Friday: Scattered thunderstorms. High 79F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Saturday: Partly cloudy, chance of a thunderstorm. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the low 60s.

Sunday: Isolated thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the low 60s.

This is better than 100% thunderstorms as Chastain is NOT covered except for about 20 seats in the far L ORCH and R ORCH. But, when there is a threat, I always suggest a hooded poncho, which can be bought ahead of time at Target or Home Depot usually for less than $5.00. If you do not use it, throw it away if you do not want to carry it, etc.

http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USTN0357.html is reporting for Nashville:

Friday: Rain showers in the morning with numerous thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. High 78F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 60s.

I've been a little concerned about the Atlanta weather...since like you said Chastain is completely (basically) uncovered...but the tix DO say RAIN/SHINE..so I'm hoping everything goes ok..I just worry about every possibility before the show.. Do they allow umberellas I wonder? Although I wouldnt wanna hold an umberella

I have seen umbrellas there before. But, I am unsure is they are really allowed, etc. Chastain Park is run by the City of Atlanta and tends not to be a pillar of efficiency Again, I have always found the cheapie ponchos the way to go. I also usually bring a roll of two of paper towels (usually in the picnic basket - not baskets are allowed for this rock concert setup) so I can wipe the wet seat after the shower. Can you tell I have done this a few times I am sure it will all turn out okay, I just believe in an ounce of prevention . . . .

No prob. I usually get mine at Home Depot - they are usually on the racks by the check out registers. If not Target or Wal Mart also has them. Caveat - I have not bought one in about two years. So, things may have changed. Interestingly. Yahoo weather is not saying only a "SLIGHT" chance of showers. I think we will be okay, but you never know!!!!!

I have been there when it was raining so hard you could barely see the stage LOL - so, unless the lightening creates some kind of safety situation, I think the show goes on.

Do most ppl usually stay anyway? I'd hate to see the crowd diminish...

People usually stay, esp. for a "big act" like FM. Most people bring raincoats, etc. Hopefully, we will luck out!!!!!!

It's a very good thing that the first two shows were indoors because I watched the weather channel and there were some NASTY storms in the area while the band was playing (can anyone who were acttually there confirm this) especially in Madison there were like ultra Severe Thunderstorms passing right over Madison as the concert was either going on or afterwards.

Yep - it rained in Madison. In fact, at one point it poured!
