Default The R&B album she has in her

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Blu...5451986&sr=1-1

This is a link to a review of the "Complete Blue Horizon Sessions by Chicken Shack.

The interesting point the reviewer makes is the that she still has time to make the R&B album I know she has in her.

Wouldn't that be interesting?

What other type of album would you like to her make? Discuss.

Personally I like to see her make a blues album with Mick, John and Peter Green.

I would love for her to make a blues album. During the late 1980's, she always talked about making another solo album & that maybe it would be a blues album. That's where her roots are & her voice then & especially now would be perfect for the blues. And, her blues piano during her Chicken Shack time was fantastic! A blues album with Mick & John(and Peter Green, if his health would allow it) would be great.

That was a terrific Amazon review, by the way.

I think an R&B or blues album would make much more for sense for Christine these day rather than a pop album, and I say that as a fan of ITM. Her voice would be much more suited to it these days and imagine all the old friends she could coax into appearing on it. Just as I'd love Stevie to do a country album, I think Christine going back to her roots would be a great move for her.

I doubt she'd make a full-blown R&B album, but I'd love it if she did!

A good deal of the music on ITM was heavily influenced by the blues: Anything is Possible; Bad Journey; Forgiveness; and Friend are all R&B tunes arranged with a west-coast rock flavor.

I would LOVE to hear her do an album with just her sitting at the piano...a bunch of "Smile I Live For" songs, or maybe a whole bunch of standards.

Good idea. I've said before I think she could pull that off.

I'd love to hear her sing "I get along without you very well"

At this point, I think Peter's found a way to control his health issues. I think the only thing that would keep him from doing it would be his own interest in such a project.

I doubt very much whether such a project would ever get off the ground.

I think Mick and John would up for it but I'm not so sure about Peter and Christine.

It wouldn't surprise me if Chris would be up for something like that, as long as she didn't have to tour to "work the album".

That's good to hear. I thought he had had a relapse several years ago ago.

Wow. Just the thought of it makes me catch my breath.

I would love to hear any type of album where Christine's piano is the lead instrument. A blues album would be a return to her roots. Gail's fantasy lineup of Christine with Peter Green would involve the two of them taking turns on lead vocals, which might be more Chris' style than a strictly solo album; that she only made three solo records in a 40 year career shows she'd rather be in a band.

Another thought would be a pop album with Mick, John and Bob Welch. Bob Welch has released some wonderful lo-fi home studio recordings lately and he hasn't toured to "work" them, either.

Well, we can't ask Christine or Peter about these questions, but we CAN ask Bob Welch. He is very involved with his website and always makes an effort to answer personal questions .... so I asked him. Here's what I asked:

Hi, Bob. I'm a fan of Christine McVie's music as well as yours. She put out a fine solo album three years ago called 'In the Meantime.' I understand she's basically retired and living on a country estate in England, but musicians don't just stop making music. Have you ever thought about doing a duo album with her, just the two of you, simple guitar and keyboard arrangements? This would be a fantasy album for a lot of fans (like me). I think the two of you were magic together in those five Fleetwood Mac albums.

And here was his reply:

Joanne..I'd love to do something like that...but I don't think Chris likes me very much since the lawsuit 6 years ago.. You never know though....

Bob Welch

thanks for posting this. what a good idea to ask Bob himself.

Hmmm so she still doesn't like him. It doesn't sound like it pays to get on the wrong side of Ms McVie.

Mick and Bob are friends again now though aren't they?

Gail

Joanne, thanks for asking Bob that question(that was a great question). Yes, it sounds like Chris is still mad at Bob. Maybe she read that Q & A. But, it does sound like Bob isn't mad at her anymore.

Yes, they are. I think I remember hearing that they had reconciled sometime around SYW time. I think Mick's wife initiated it.

Does anyone know the background to the lawsuit?

I heard about it but I don't actually know any details.
