There are many similarities between the two ladies. A couple of years ago Abba got together for some anniversary of the show Mama Mia in London but Agnetha didn't join them. she was interviewed at the time and said that there "wasn't a day went by that she didn't think of Abba" - sound familiar? I don't think Christine's dislike of flying is that strong though. she went to the states to promote ITM didn't she?

If Christine really wanted to participate in the next FM project she'd find a way. It would only mean her being in L.A. for a couple of weeks and Lindsey coming over here for a couple of weeks. I think that if this story is true we have to face the fact that she DOESN'T WANT TO BE IN FLEETWOOD MAC ANYMORE - sorry to shout.

But. . . why?

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I don't presume to speak for the lady herself but I'd hazard a guess that at her age she likes to work at her own pace when she feels like it without the attendant nonsense that comes with a FM album. She's done all that and clearly doesn't feel like repeating the experiance.

We have to remember that she is 65 years old and although we hope she is healthy you do tend to slow down as you get older.

I may be wrong but I think that at the back of her mind she thinks they might try to bully her into touring again which she clearly doesn't want to do.

I don't believe there is any sinister reason - she is happy where she is and what she is doing with her life. Good for her!

I absolutely agree. We all tend to forget that Christine wanted to retire from music back in 1970, before she even joined FM properly! From the ITM publicity we know how much she loves her life back home in the UK and that any involvement in something big and flashy (i.e. an FM album) which was done on terms other than her own would just lift her out of that happiness. Also, as you say, at 65 I think she simply wants to do things her way and at her pace, and I say fair enough!

That's obviously the most likely thing. The original post contained nothing that I would call reliable information ... all it was was a quoted email from someone we don't know to someone who is a board newbie.

But it's fun to speculate on a possible new Christine album, and looking at her low-key, no-expectations approach to 'In the Meantime,' I don't think it's impossible she'll do a similar project again. She apparently had fun recording that record. There was no media circus, no late nights, no months at a time on the road. If she DOES do a new album, would it be too much to hope for that she'd do a couple of low-key acoustic gigs to back it up?

God I hope so.... something where her vocals are smooth and laid like warm ways... or the verses on Bad journey...

I loved her preachiness in Bad Journey... "never thought you'd tear me apart..." etc etc...

We don't have anything concrete but it may still be true. I'm not getting my hopes up. I do remember though quite a while before ITM was released there were rumours circulating that she was working on an album.

As for any live stuff - I think we can forget it. although she might lead a sing-song in her local pub So it's everyone down to The Rose!

This is true, But those rumors were from a very credible source, in my opinion. Neil(from the Go Your Own Way website) was told by Ken Caillait that she was recording a new album. There were also rumors that Chris & Eddy had divorced. Then a few years later, Ken Caillait confirmed those rumors in his Q & A on this site. However, remember those cancer rumors from about 5 years ago? Thank God those rumors turned out not to be true.

I'm hopeful, but very skeptical until we get credible confirmation that this is true.

I agree. We don't know how credible these rumours are and like you I am hopeful but would like to see something from a reliable source.

But I believe she showed up in London for the film premiere this year didn't she?

So there's still hope for Christine yet!
