Default John & Lindsey

When the band was featured in Interview a little bit ago, John said the following:

Lindsey still pulls stuff out of the hat; he’s an amazing guitar player, but he never gets recognized for that. And even though he’s the band’s producer, he hides his voice a bit. Mick and I are always mentioning, with timid little voices, “We can’t really hear your vocals, Lindsey.” [laughs]

Something about this comment endears John and Lindsey to me. After years of reading interviews, this is perhaps the first time I can remember John really complimenting Lindsey on his guitar work, let alone saying he thinks Lindsey is under-appreciated for it. Considering how John himself seems to kind of hide from the spotlight I thought it interesting and a little touching that he recognizes that tendency in Lindsey (as producer of his own vocals) too, and it seems, tries to encourage him to show it off more. As Lindsey's raved about John's work on the new album as well, it's just nice to see the two "shy" boys supporting each other.

Heart Aww.....

Ain't that sweet!! Yeah, their relationship sounds like it's very interesting. We always hear how Mick and John are like the "best friends" in the group and then Stevie and Christine were "best friends", but who was Lindsey's "best friend"? I remember the Tusk doc and how Lindsey and John shared a sip of beer....that kinda for some reason, shocked me....but that WAS 1979, and people um..."shared" lots of things, I suppose. LOL

YAY JOHN for speaking about Lindsey...and vice versa!

Are Stevie and Christine still that close? Or do you think they were "tighter" when they were constantly in the studio and on tour? Stevie doesn't really speak much of her anymore, so I'm assuming they don't talk...

As for John and Lindsey, that is so cute. It's really nice that they are speaking out and praising each other's work and not just the same old crap about "yeah it's great to be back together." It was almost sweet to hear John share that about Lindsey...

If I'd have written a song on "Rumours"? How about "You want a what?", or "We should have had a Pre-Nup". (John McVie)

Heart John & Lindsey!!!

John is very funny & honest...he knows who in the band
is the lutheir's musician!!! Lindsey has learned his lesson...
to respect John's work since rumours!!! Wasn't it John who
introduced him to Rick Turner so Lindsey could also have a
great ax like John played...very versatile and light weight!!!
Apparently...Lindsey and John are good friends now!

I second that! It's so refreshingly nice to see a band of amazingly talented people taking time out to compliment the other members rather than constantly trying to make themselves look good. I know John's not exactly an "attention-seeker"....lol!!...but that doesn't mean he can't have an ego. Same goes for LB. Everything he said there sounded so heartfelt....truly a pleasure to read.

Thanks Les, that was a sweet comment from John. Especially when you consider that way back in the day, those two butted heads over each others playing styles!
