I'm really interested in the alternate Tusk album, as well as the live performances.

I think the live songs will expose, if untouched, the level of post-production that was done on some of the songs on the LIVE album. At the time of its released, I recall Christine describing the album as "warts and all." But some of those warts were covered over in the studio. Yet that's typical of many live albums.

I agree. The first live version of Rhiannon I ever got was the Sin City bootleg and, as I've posted before here, it is still my favorite by far. When I heard the Fleetwood Mac Live version, I was disappointed, though I don't think that version is bad. It just isn't nearly as good as what I was expecting. But I have to say that about Landslide from Fleetwood Mac Live too. I've always thought it was really really weak compared to many other versions I've heard. Stevie's voice does not seem to be in good shape on that version, and I've always wondered why they chose that version.

Default Looking good...

The deluxe 5CD/1DVD/2LP set has made it to #49 on
Amazon's Top 100 Chart. Not bad at all for FM's best
album.

More importantly the excellent new CD released today
Elvis with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, If I Can Dream
is at #2.

The live Rhiannon experience is the most important part of the show for me. I wish Stevie would give up the crack head dance in GDW and throw all her energy back into Rhiannon like she did in the old days.
Now THAT i agree with! I still check the current Rhiannon clips to see what she does at the end but I've given up hope. It will never be what it was.

Only part of this set that would inspire me to buy are the two live discs.

But, the whole thing is pissin' me off...first they're on their, what?, 4th reissue of Rumours?? Now, this is the 2nd (of how many more?) reissue of Tusk...how about releasing an album of NEW material, people??

same.

although we know at least one band member who is much more frustrated about no new album than both of us added together.

Hmm, where does the remix of That's All For Everyone come from on disc 2? As far as i know it was never used on a single a or b side was it? On that disc there's also the single mix of Not That Funny, i don't think that's been released before has it?

All things aside, as somebody who remembers the draught between 1997-2003 where there was literally nothing new until TISL, the past couple of years has been a really cool time to be a fan. Officially released soundboard recordings from the tusk tour? That idea would of been laughed out of the room back in the day...

Not sure if anyone has gone back to Mick's (first) book but I skimmed through the Tusk tour part and during the Wembley shows he was ill and said that some of the shows were great and others were not. I hope whoever put this together did a good job and picked the good shows lol.

In 1980 WB released a 4 song EP with a remix of That's All For Everyone and a SOTM remix and I forget the other 2 songs on there.

Just a heads up...the deluxe set can be ordered on amazon uk for about 70.00 us dollars shipped. A better deal than the current us price.

Hi Vivfox, is this the one you were thinking of?
Still gets some play at my place, really get a kick out of it. It will be nice to have the different versions on CD.
