Default Grammy Nominations

Fleetwood Mac was shut out, at least for the major awards. But the Eagles and Warren Zevon were nominated in major categories.

Lightbulb Completely ignored

...no questions asked, no comments needed.

I'm sort of furious.

What a pity Fleetwood Mac was ignored... 'Say You Will' truly is an exceptional album.

I'm still shaking my head that the Eagles were nominated for "Hole In The World."
I like the Eagles, but that song is the biggest piece of garbage I've heard from a "respectable" band in a lonnnnnnng time.

But don't worry, folks... Fleetwood Mac will sweep the Grammys with their next album!

...So, what were they nominated for? (Or were they ignored all together...?)

Default Not supprised

If I were a non FM fan and Say You Will got nominated for one or more Grammies I would be perplexed and pissed because as much as we hard core fans find wonderful things in the album it is nothing to write home about from the non hard core world and I am being nice. There are some nice things about the album and we all know how hard Lindsey worked on it, but it is hardly Grammy material.

I would disagree that is more than Grammy material..compared to some of the things that are nominated this year...I do not think Beyonce's album is a more creative and genius effort than SYW...or half of the nominations up there..

I am telling ya FM's Say You Will is a hell of a lot better than that Missy Elliot crap. Seriously. This is just absurd.

Well, I love all the artists that were nominated, but I don't see why there wasn't room for Fleetwood Mac. I think they could've easily replaced the Eagles nomination.

Sheryl Crow didn't get nominated either, did she? I think this is the first time she's never been nominated for a Grammy.

Oh well, at least they won the AMA. That should hold a little more importance b/c it's voted on by the fans.

this isn't such bad news. Say You Will is a challenging adventurous rock album. By and large, the majority of the nominations were given to top 40 pop trash. look through the list - most of it's garbage.

the few exceptions were warren zevon, warren w/ springsteen, lucinda williams, emmylou harris, alison krauss, and coldplay.

don't be too disappointed FM fans - the days of the Grammy's awarding artistic merrit are long gone. it's all about cash these days - which usually means the stellar recordings are swept aside.

as far as i'm concerned, a grammy nomination usually means top ten big seller - which for the most part means - music for people with really bad taste.

She didn't have anything new, though. I don't think that her new song was out in time to be considered.

As for FM not being nominated, it's no surprise.

As for the Eagles being nominated for "Hole In the World"...

WHAT THE F*CK?!?!

Is the music industry *that* retarded? It's among the worst songs I've EVER heard in my life; it is so bad that it's mind-boggling. My mother is the biggest Eagles fan and when she first heard it, she said "It's bad."
