I've wondered this too. Because Stevie is so short and he towers over her (even when she has heels on) I think there is a perception that he is taller than he is. He is as tall as everyone in FM, except Mick, but maybe John is short as well.

Plus, in the early days when Lindsey had all of that hair, he looked even taller.

I know Stevie refers to Jimmy as "little one" and he is definitely small, but I always wondered about "Smile at You" and if she perceives Lindsey as being physically small too.

I'm from Detroit and remember I always used to think Isiah Thomas was very small, but then I saw him in person and he was huge. He was just small in comparison to the other basketball players on the court with him.

Reverse thing with George Burns. By the time I saw him later in his life, making the talk show rounds, he was obviously very short, but then I saw old videos of the Burns & Allen show and he didn't look short at all, because everyone on the show was the same height as he was or shorter.

It's all relative. I think Stevie greatly contributes to the fans' assessment of Lindsey's height. Michele

When I saw lindsey's up close in NY he looked shorter than I thought he did. I'm 5'11 and I think he may be a little shorter. Grow that fro out Linds!

If I had to guess, I would say Lindsey is about 5'10". He's got a very slight build, an almost delicate frame. When I had the good fortune to shake his hand and stare into those gorgeous eyes (!), I did look him straight in the eye. I'm 5'7" and had on probably two inch heels, so I think 5'10" is probably a good bet.

I'm with Patti- I think he's about 5'10". I was looking at the picture we have of with them- Luke looks about two or three inches taller then he does, and Luke's 6'1"... I'm standing next to John, and he's only about an inch taller than I am... so he must be around 5'8" or 5'9".

5'10" sounds about right, although, doesn't he wear boots usually. That might bring him up an inch or two. Anyway, he's probably gotten shorter over the years too. My dad is about his age, and he's dropped a couple inches in the last 10 years. Lindsey was probably about 6' back in the day. After all, don't you have to be somewhat tall to play water polo?
