I like the intro snare snap followed by the horn section...what a damned fine way for an opening track of an album to start!!

Man, I was with ya, all up until that horn section kicked in! And how would they have ever pulled it off live?

Have Tower Of Power open for them and then ask the horn section to sit in with them.

Christine's piano work on the entire album is really good...and seemingly more prominent than on previous albums.

That's true, even more so than Mystery To Me. I believe there's only 2 or 3 tracks where I can't hear her piano. "Born Enchanter" is another good one to listen to her piano.

Yeah, she seemed very "piano oriented" on that album...to the point of hiring somebody ELSE (Doug Graves & later Bobby Hunt) to play Hammond & synths.

I love the title Heroes song. Her voice is in top form as she belts out this "men are pigs" up-tempo blues. I first heard it when I was about 12 and was horrrified by the horn charts. But I love them now. I wish, however, there were one or two very deep, low horns in there, too...

If you listen to the song minus the horn charts it's a very well-crafted, straight ahead r and b track. I think they could have pulled this off live, with a bit of rearranging.

All of her Heroes songs are excellent. They would benefit from re-recording.
