I think definitely they did not want her to leave in 1997.. there was probably some question whether they could have even gone on without her initially. Personally, they're better with her in my opinion, so I think it's great that it looks like she's in.
I remember reading this and thinking, "He needs to sell FM without her." And they did just that in almost every article I read.

In my opinion, they are so much more vivid with Christine. Buckingham/Nicks, as good as it was in 1973 is pretty generic nowadays.

Did she write this song, or did Dan?

I don't think there were liner notes for that tune. The music definitely sounds like Christine wrote it. The lyrics sound like they are for LB. But that's just a guess.

And we already knew that Little Lies was about him, although not in a romantic sense.

I heard that an acoustic version of "Friend" was once available on iTunes, but seems to have been deleted now. Anyone has a good version here of that song? I never heard it...

It was really nice, I thought. When Christine was doing radio interviews for ITM one station played it and she claimed not to have heard it, so it must have been produced without her having any specific input.

I got the song from an Australian promo CD. There were no liner notes on the CD, but I think Christine wrote the music & lyrics. Compare the song to Dan's 2 songs on ITM. There's no way Dan wrote it. It sounds like Christine to me.

I've always wondered about who the song is about. I've thought maybe Mick or even John, never Lindsey. But now, I don't know. It could be Lindsey, especially after learning about Over My Head.

If it is from ITM couldn't it be about the guy she said many of the songs were about? The one with the 'funny little white car with the broken lights'?

I get the impression from what she said in interviews that the music she wrote in the early 2000s was not about anybody well-known.

I'm not sure that every song that she wrote was about the same guy. Although I love it, Come Out To Play always sounded different from the other songs on the album. She never did use the song on the finished album.

By the way, I also thought that she wrote Friend about Fleetwood Mac or about Mick & John specifically.

That's interesting. She didn't say anything about that from what I remember, but there's no reason she would, I suppose.

When she was asked, I think, by Steve Wright, she said that the album was about 'one man' and 'different periods during that relationship'.
