PBS and sports (specifically football and hockey) are the only reasons I have an antenna.

You and I are on the same page for sports--my 2 faves.

Musical artistry and creative freedom aside, let's talk bank accounts. By 1997, Lindsey was still living off of a cash flow and investments generated by profit from the Rumours/Tusk era, nearly 20 years earlier. Is it possible that the money was drying up? Stevie has been quoted as saying that Lindsey was far more conservative with his spending that other members of the band. He wasn't wasteful. But, how long could that cash last?

By 1997, Lindsey was entering the dawn of a new personal life. Soon, children, houses, and family life would be in the picture. This requires cash flow. I can't imagine Lindsey's family being able to lead the lifestyle that they do without the cash flow from Fleetwood Mac tours. His solo career certainly wasn't going to pay for it. These children attended posh elite private schools in Brentwood. Kristen has expensive taste.

I realize that Lindsey prefers to be the tortured creative genius who is strongly opposed to "selling out". But, let's not discount the benefits that the big machine has afforded his lifestyle.

keep in mind that multimillionaires like our macsters don't live from paycheck to paycheck like the rest of us.

i read somewhere once that kind of money takes care of itself. you have tons of accountants and people investing and multiplying your millions. (unless you are Mick, of course, then you keep spending more than you make). so no, he may have had more money in 1997 than originally after making millions from Rumours. plus royalties, etc. remember he said once that SN made 6 millions just from Dixie Chicks cover of Landslide.
