Yep, I am on dial-up. I know some people with DSL and they have too many problems with it so I am kind of glad I am on dial-up. Maybe someday. |

It doesn't have much of a John Shanks feel, at least to my ears. |

I think I like the album version of "Bombay Sapphires" better than this alt version. I miss the guitar riff in the chorus on the album version.

I think My Heart is atrocious. The lyrics are pretty good, but it's so AC and overproduced, even more than the rest of TISL. I can't really grasp much of a melody, either. Someone sent it to me awhile back raving about it, but I was left quite cold. One of the things that makes my ears bleed is the melodramatic music during the verses. My word, it sounds like stock music from a Streisand record.
HOWEVER ----- I loooooooooove Bombay Sapphires. It slays the album version.

Now that the novelty has worn off... I think the lyrics are nice, but the music is overdramatic. As for the alternate Bombay Sapphires, I immediately thought it beat the pants off of the album version. Productionwise, less is more. And she didn't need Macy Gray on this song. The "I can... I can..." ending is lovely, too. |

The intro, with those banged out power chords right before the vocal kicks in, reminds me of the bombastic (and very early 90s) intro to "Love's a Hard Game to Play"! Last edited by blinker12; 11-26-2004 at 02:41 AM.. |

maybe they chose the BS album version because releasing this alternate version would have made Sting sue stevie.

I loved it when I first heard it a few weeks ago and I still LOVE it. It is very Crow-ish which is not necessarily a good thing when it comes to Stevie's music. I like the lyrics a real lot. (especially the first person)
