Default Stop Messin' Around 1990 Manchester download

Here's "Stop Messin' Around" from the BTM tour in Manchester. I'm posting it in this forum because of Christine's terrific piano solo.

I don't think the problem is the solo, it's more the mix. I can hear it better with headphones. I have the 1990 L.A. show on videotape & you can hear the piano solo really well. Unfortunately, I only have it on videotape, not mp3.

That Manchester show is really good all the way through.

How's the quality (both picture and sound) of that 1990 LA show?? I was there!!

The sound is really good & the picture is pretty good. It was shot from a distance. There are no close-ups. I'm not sure if it was shot by someone in the audience or the crew. Usually audience shot footage bounces around alot. This one isn't. The camera is very still & the picture is clear. The only negative thing is that my tape ends with "Stand Back". The rest of the show is missing.

yes! i defintely was being sarcastic... the mix is bad because the soundboard was unable to bring her out with all the other instrumentation... i have run a soundboard before and it's hard to bring the piano out in a loud rock song... it just is...but it's still possible

Nope, you just gotta find it it's own niche. Brighten it up a little(or lot) more than you would in the studio. I usually sweep the high mids to about 2.5K, and boost it there. It depends, of course, on how many instruments it's competing with, on how much EQ'ing I'll do. I especially use the above "trick" on Rhodes. It's a bitch sometimes to get them to stand out.

yeah that sounds like an electric piano vs a ac piano... they are ususally not as bright...

Is the camera angle "straight back" from the stage or off to one side?

I was sitting directly in front of the sound/light board...literally...if I had tilted backwards in my chair, I wouldn't have fallen over, the sound/light board would've caught my fall.

The camera angle is straight back from the stage. The center of the stage is right in the middle of the screen, but it's from a distance.
