Diss might prefer the hundred page option though hehe,
is it still in the archives, will I be able to find it? Nah seriously, I am just interested to see what people have against it, I actually really love Stevie and Lyndsey's voice in this song, it's a very tender, affectionate and intimate song to me.

Oh, look it up. You'll hear many people, at length, discuss all the feelings they have for it. There's plenty. Since this is a 'showing love' thread, I am being very good and making no comments !

I don't necessarily hate the song, just ALL those Wassamatta's..... As I posted recently, I love the part where Lindsey comes in! I think THAT is one of his greatest vocal parts in any song(it has "longing", IMO).
Surely, Bob Dylan could've come up with something less repetitive than all the Wassamatta's.

And surely Christine could have come up with something better than all of Sugar Daddy.

Anyway, I happen to love When I See You Again. And I agree with you Homer about Lindsey's part - I get chills everytime.

I think the verses are incredible and express a deep regret/longing/sadness that I can really relate to. The soft guitar really does it for me too.

It's miles better than quite a few songs on Tango. At least, in this guy's opinion.

LOVE IT.

I'm telling ya. There are very few songs I dislike....Empire State, Lizard People, and These Strange Times.....everything else I love. This is the one bad I can honestly say I love all their work. That's the reason I am on this board....their music is fantastic to me. I'm not a casual listener. Sure, I bash songs here and there, but it doesn't mean I don't like it. Some songs are more perfection than others. WISYA is in that category. Could it be better? Sure. Is it so bad I want to rip my eardrums out? No. I love the song for what it is. It's one of my favorites on Tango. It's not one of my Top 10 FM songs, but it does it job for me.

I love this song, too.

The second verse and the bridge are really, really good. Perhaps this song wouldn't be so derided if the condition of her voice was better. Some say the thrashed nature of her vocal cords adds to the overall vulnerability of this song, however, I think it just makes the endless "whassamattas" more grating.

I can really relate to Stevie's overall longing in this song, though. What I wouldn't give for someone to say "What's the matter, baby?" to me and truly mean it and follow through on the resolve.

But then again you like "Woman in Me," so we've come to expect it from you.

Sorry...but no love from me for WISYA. I don't hate it but it's definitely one of my least favorite Stevie songs.

Ok I think what drives ppl nuts is the texture of her voice and the "baby's". Otherwise, it a pretty good song. LB handles his vocal magnificantly on this song. The guitar is haunting too.

There are many Stevie songs that are great songs, but she's just not in good vocal form. I really like Stevie as a composer (more than Chris and LB sometimes) but as a singer she can get on your nerves. Especially if you are a straight tone singer.

but then again Stevie Nicks has made maybe a few more dollars than I have as a singer. ok maybe a billion more.
