The "rule" per the DNC Rules and Bylaws is that states that move up their primaries may be penalized by up to 50% of their delegation. It was the arbitrary "rule" cooked up by Donna Brazille last year that gave MI and FL 0% of their delegation. Gee, it would seem like a decidedly partisan move by this "undeclared" superdelegate. The Rules and Bylaws also indicate that the full delegation may be restored if each state repaired their violation and enter into compliance, i.e., a re-vote. MI, FL and Clinton were ready, willing and able to fund and perform a re-vote. Obama blocked this by running down the clock via legal wrangling. Yeah, that's a new kind of politician.

Why don't you read the rules and bylaws before you determine what a spade really looks like.

Right...and as of last year she was so clairvoyant that she predicted exactly what was going to come to pass when those two states jumped the gun on the primaries ..if she could see into the future that well she could have circumvented the disenfranchisement of voters in Florida in 2000 and put the kibosh om the entire Chimpco nightmare of the last seven and a half years.

Oh please... she knew the deal. MI is chock full of "white working class voters" and FL is chock full of Jews, old ladies and Latinos- poison for their golden calf. Yet, when South Carolina moved up their primary, that was "okay." Donna Brazille has simply discredited herself beyond any hope of repair.

Ever been to Detroit? Also as I recall there are probably as many black people in Florida as there are Jewish people and the vast majority of Latinos in FLA aren't even Democrats.

From http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/may...ard-democrats/

Quote:

Overall, the number of (Florida) voters who identify themselves as Hispanic increased from 1.07 million to 1.18 million in that time.

Of those:

Democrats have increased their numbers by about 64,000, from 33.27 percent to 35.5 percent of the total. More than half the increase has come during this calendar year.

No-party and minor party members increased by about 41,000, from 28.49 percent to 29.28 percent.

Republicans have increased by about 7,500 but dropped from 38.24 percent to 35.22 percent of the total.

Democrats who won't vote for Obama are now being called "insane", with the added implication that most are racist. We can expect this type of treatment right up to November, with much indignation and self-righteousness towards such Democrats. Probably by people who never cared when Michelle Obama said she would have to think about voting for Hillary Clinton. And watch for people who put the responsiblity of fixing the rift all on Hillary Clinton, and ignore that one of Obama's advisors has already said that he will not do much in the way of "wooing Clinton supporters".

Well it is pretty crazy to jump ship and vote for McCain particularly when he has reached the limit of the average life expectancy for males in the U.S. and will likely choose a right wingnut as his running mate and while most of Obama's supporters would have voted for Hillary had she been the nominee a much higher percentage of Hillary supporters are willing to go over to the otherside..Kind of shows where their mindset was to begin with.

Exactly - and Hillary is the selfish one

I think that if the Obama camp is smart, they will realize:

1. Obama did not get many of the delegate vote by actual elections.

2. Hillary Clinton is a very good ally to have in that she's got tens of millions of votes that are waiting for her lead.

3. Obama may get the blacks vote, but he cannot win without a significant portion of the white, Jewish, and Hispanic vote in the main electorally relevant states and Hillary somewhat commands that crowd.

So, they better not get to high on the horse and piss her off. Hopefully, the neophyte has learned at least that.

And the stats to back that statement up are where?

I remember when it looked like Hillary might pull ahead, the Obama fans were singing the same song Hillary fans are now singing.

Um --

Michigan is mostly white (about 83% http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan ) -- in in recent years, it votes D (17 electoral votes)

PRINCETON, NJ -- A sizable proportion of Democrats would vote for John McCain next November if he is matched against the candidate they do not support for the Democratic nomination. This is particularly true for Hillary Clinton supporters, more than a quarter of whom currently say they would vote for McCain if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee.

These conclusions are based on an analysis of Democratic voters' responses to separate voting questions in March 7-22 Gallup Poll Daily election tracking. In each day's survey, respondents are asked for their general election preferences in McCain-Clinton and McCain-Obama pairings. Democratic voters are then asked whom they support for their party's nomination.

The accompanying graph displays the results of the relationship between support for the Democratic Party's nomination and the general election vote between Obama and McCain.

sorry I couldn't paste the graph but you can get the idea.
