Lindsey Starr provides West Coast synth-pop sunshine on Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’

http://www.vanyaland.com/2016/04/15/...cs-everywhere/

There’s an interesting trend developing where Boston musicians leave town and then cover Fleetwood Mac in their new cities. A few weeks ago, folk singer-songwriter Caleb Groh unveiled his take on “Little Lies” from his new camp in Nashville, and now the Los Angeles-based Lindsey Starr, the former Chemical Smile leader, Daily Pravda bassist, and solo artist has offered up a sun-shining synth-pop rendition of the Mac’s late-’80’s track “Everywhere”.

Fleetwood Mac is my all time favorite band,” Starr tells us. “I grew up listening to them and idolized Stevie and Christine, and we wanted to make an LCD Soundsystem-esque version of the song”.

Starr’s take isn’t too far removed from the Fleetwood Mac version, which appeared on 1987 album Tango In The Night, serving as the fourth single on what would be the British pop group’s second-best selling record behind only Rumours.

Interestingly enough, “Little Lies” was the third single off Tango In The Night, so maybe we have an ex-Bostonian tribute album in the works. Stake your claim to “Big Love” and listen to Starr’s “Everywhere” below.

Everywhere was "west coast synth pop" when Fleetwood Mac recorded it.

8 Songs You Need In Your Life This Week
Tracks we love right now. In no particular order.

7. You probably didn't know you needed a dancehall cover of a Fleetwood Mac classic. Busy Signal's "Everywhere" is a breezy, joyful update to peak Stevie Nicks. Now you know.

I guess Everywhere is Stevie's song because she is Fleetwood Mac.

Cineplex's new short encourages Canadians to 'See The Big Picture'
Dec 9, 2016 Film Journal International

http://www.filmjournal.com/news/cine...ee-big-picture

A Balloon for Ben is set in a world where balloons are filled with the light of film. Ben and his father purchase a balloon with the intention of watching it together, but things do not go as planned when the demands of his father’s job get in the way. What follows is a the tale of how Ben’s father ultimately shares the joy of making time for what he loves with his son. The film features a rendition of “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac, which is performed by Toronto-native Em Patrick (in English) and Star Académie winner Stephanie Lapointe (in French).

A full-length version of the song featured in A Balloon for Ben, “Everywhere,” will be available for purchase in mid-December on Spotify, iTunes and Google Play Music, with proceeds benefitting WE, Cineplex’s national charity partner. Click here to watch a behind-the-scenes video about the making of A Balloon for Ben.
